A Blog of Chocolate

Friday is International Teachers Day.  I love these types of days where saying 'thankyou' or 'I appreciate you' is official.  We don't say thanks often enough but we are quick to complain when things go wrong.

I made thankyous for Zac's teachers who do a fabulous job every day.

The box is made using Box #2 of the Big Shot bigz xl dies.  I think Stampin' Up! and Aldi have had discussions because they sell a chocolate that fits perfectly into this box.  I have wrapped four chocolates in DSP for each box.

These are the chocolates - there are five in a pack which means one is left over each time you make a box.....Hmmm...what to do...what to do...

Geometrical = Masculine

This card is easy to prepare, you just need to be a patient gluer.  Stampin' Up!s square punched allow you to punch out plenty of shapes in a snap.  A line up of brads adds some polish.

Notelets

In the previous catalogue, you could buy these notelets and matching envelopes.  Now only the envelopes are available, which makes sense because you can easily cut your own notelets and therefore make them any colour you wish.  They are on page 123 of the catalogue and are 7.9 cm x 7.9 cm.  These mini cards use Baroque Motifs (everyone should own that set - even non-stampers!) matched with a variety of other stamp sets.  Don't you love the embossed butterfly?  That's run through the Big Shot.

Blushing Bride meets Punch Potpourri

I love Blushing Bride, one of the new In Colors; sort of a smokey pink.  Here, I have teamed it with Punch Potpourri, a Level One Hostess set, to make a cute little notelet which fits neatly into the Mini Square envelopes (7.9 cm x 7.9 cm) A stick on Basic Pearl adds a touch of elegance.  This was super quick to put together.

Stamps:  Punch Potpourri
Card:  Blushing Bride DSP, Whisper White A4, In Color Designer Series Paper Stack
Ink: Basic Black, Blushing Bride, Pear Pizzazz
Tools:  Full Heart Punch
Accessories: Basic Pearl

Bit of Bling

My nephew loves drawing and is always doing quick sketches.  He makes his own original cards by doing a striking black ink sketch on the front.  He did this sketch for my mum's birthday card - a grin with flashing tooth.  I couldn't resist grabbing one of the stick on jewels and adding it for a bit of bling.

Printed Petals

Again, using the new In Colors - Concord Crush and Poppy Parade, a bright and cheerful combination.  All the In Colors have co-ordinating 1/2" Stitched-Poly ribbon.

The sentiment is from Party This Way.

The centre of the flower is created using the one in punch, pierced with the 1/16" punch and glued over a 1 inch circle of Peach Parfait.

Regionals

Regional was a while back now and I promised to post some of the Make and Takes.  We did a lot of work on colouring images so this card was a great way to experiement with watercolouring and masking.

The stamp set is Every Moment and each image comes up beautifully when coloured.  Can you see the tiny pearl in the second flower.  A delicate touch!

Happy Anniversary

Friends of mine are celebrating their wedding anniversary.  This is the card I made.  It doesn't quite show in the pic, but the girl owl has a tummy of Blushing Bride DSP.  This is one of the new In Colours, a sort of a dusty pink.  Remember that DSP (Designer Series Paper) now comes in pattern stacks in each colour family (page 127 of catalogue).  I have the In Colour stack - more samples next post!

...Fairies, Butterflies and Cupcakes

Another sample for the dancewear shop.  I'll make a bunch of these in the pink, purple and lilac combinations.  The cupcake top us part of the scallop circle punch, the bottom is a 4 x 4 cm square that I have trimmed slightly and run through the paper crimper.  Do you like the flame on the candle?  That's the heart from the Two-Step Owl Punch.  The candle is hand cut.  The Happy Birthday sentiment is punched out with the new Modern Label Punch.

Stamps: Party this Way
Card: Melon Mambo A4, Pacific Point A4, Regal Rose A4, Daffodil Delight A4, Pumpkin Pie A4 (all p118), Whisper White A4
Tools: Modern Label Punch (p147), Scallop Circle Punch (p147), Two-Step Owl Punch (p146), Crimper (p148)

Pinks, Purples and Lilacs

I have been asked by a dancewear shop to make a few cards for them to sell.  I visited the shop the other day.  I have one child, a boy so I haven't had a lot of need to visit dance wear shops, but I think Tinkerbell's Treasures has everything your heart could desire if you had a child interested in dance and dressups.  It was a wonderland!  I took some samples along and the order request has been for fairies, butterflies and cupcakes...in pinks, purples and lilacs.   One of the simple cards I made was this little notecard.  It's pink (tick) and has a butterfly (tick) and some bling (surely, a tick).  The butterfly is an Embosslits Die, run through the Big Shot.  Stampin' Up! now sells stick-on Rhinestones for that bit of sparkle.  The paper piercing is done using the Mat Pack. This was very quick and easy to put together.

Stamps: None
Card:  Whisper White A4 (p121), Mini Square Envelopes (p123), Pretty In Pink (p119)
Ink: Stampin' Write Journaler (p143)
Tools:  Big Shot (p150), Beautiful Wings Embosslits Die (p 151)
Accessories: Basic Rhinestones (p140), Mat Pack (p148), Paper Piercing Tool (p148)
