Jar of Love + Painted Season + Gingham Gala DSP

My focus this week is JARS!

Jar of Love in the Annual Catalogue is one of my favourite sets - so much so that I have bought it a second time because my first set has been used to death.

I don't know why but I am drawn to jars.

These come with matching Framelits which makes the set even dinkier in my opinion!

And because I used the Gingham Gala DSP, I had to make one in each colour.....

The flowers are stamped with one of the beautiful images from the Painted Seasons stamp set which is bundled with DSP for a SAB freebee.

The Framelits for the Painted Season stamp set will be available for purchase in March along with framelits for a number of other SAB sets.

The large scallop is one of my all time favourite dies from the Seasonal Layers Thinlits in the Annual Catalogue.  It's such a handy accent for cards.

And I added some bling using the Gingham Gala Adhesive Backed Sequins....So easy to apply because....well....they have adhesive backs!

Did you notice I switched the DSP over so that some were the big checks and some were the small checks??

Do you drool over all this lovely papery fun???  Do you have a shopping list that is looooong?  did you know that you can join my team as a Hobby Demonstrator which means that you can buy all your goodies for a 20% discount?

Stamparatus 101!

Stampin Up ® Stamparatus

 Class no. 2

Thursday 21st February 2019

Stamparatus®

Item #148187
$85.00

I have had quite a few requests for another class to showcase more techniques using the Stampin Up ® Stamparatus.
This is a fantastic tool with many different applications.

For this Class we used with the All Adorned Stamp set, which is one of the Second Release Sale-a-bration items FREE with every $90 ordered.

The first card, CASEd from Erica Cerwin, used Balmy Blue cardstock, and Night of Navy ink. Using the small grid paper made especially for the Stamparatus as a guide, we rotated the card, leaving the stamp in the same place on the clear plate to stamp each corner. We then stamped the greeting on Whisper White and used a gold foil edging to make it pop.

Do you spot a new stamp set?  It's from More than Words, a new stamp set designed for SAB coordination that will be available for purchase in March.

The next card overlapped two of the images from All Adorned, one using Smoky Slate ink, and the other Merry Merlot. The card front is Smokey Slate and the sentiment from the Hello Cup Cake set in Sale-a-bration (first release) is stamped in Merry Merlot, with the ribbon coming from the 2018 Holiday Catalogue.  We used the Stamparatus hinge step which allows you to move the plate down the hinges and evenly space the pattern.

We moved on to make a gift tag using Pumpkin Pie cardstock, and the Scalloped Tag Topper, from the Annual Catalogue. Using the Jar of Love stamp set, we stamped the jar, the lid and the fish, with the water inside using Bermuda Bay ink.  These are so quick to make, and are really eye catching to add to any gift.

The next technique was the reflective images from the This Little Piggy stamp set from the Annual Catalogue. We used the Silicone Craft Sheet (page 213 of the Annual Catalogue) to stamp the image onto,  then flipped it over so that it became the 'stamp' and stamped  a 'reflection' of the 'real' pig.
We coloured the pigs using the Stampin Blends.

The last technique, allowed us to stamp a multicoloured image on to the card base.  Because the stamp lands in exactly the same place, ink can be added in different shades and touch ups can be made.
We used the All Things Thanks stamp set and coloured it in Melon Mambo, Mango Melody and Calypso Coral, for a bright thank you card.
The ribbon is the Melon Mambo 1/4" Mini Striped Ribbon, and of course we used Rhinestones to add some bling.   Garden Impressions DSP was the inspiration for the colour choices and it provided the background for the Whisper White piece.

Stampin' Blends Club

Thursday 7th Feb Class - Stampin Blends

I started my Stampin' Blends club today, with some basic light and dark colouring using the fabulous Stampin Up ® Blends.

We used Light and Dark Highland Heather Stampin Blends, with Dark Old Olive for the leaves.

Our focus was on colouring with the Blends rather than worrying about too much shading and blending and we also worked with stamps that had small areas to colour.

This First Card used Highland Heather cardstock and the Gingham Gala DSP from the current Occasions Catalogue. The greeting came from the current Sale-a-bration catalogue set Part of My Story. This stamp set is free if you spend $90 on current products, and has some lovely versatile and unique greetings.
Using Memento Ink we stamped directly on the DSP - a different idea, and added cut out leaves on Old Olive cardstock.

For the second card, we coloured the tea cup from the Time for Tea stamp set in the Occasions Catalogue and the small flower and leaves from the same set. Old Olive Cardstock formed the base with Whisper White and Tea Room Speciality DSP
The Pearlized Doily was coloured with the Dark Old Olive Blends - another use for these pens.

Quick and Simple Cards

Tuesday Feb 5th Classes - Quick and Simple

For this week's classes we made 8 quick, simple cards,  using a range of Stampin Up ® products. It's always easy to choose a layout, and then slightly change the papers or rearrange them, to create different looking cards.  Our theme was CIRCLES!

The first card used the Subtle Embossing Folder to give texture to the front of the card, Natures Poem DSP for earthy masculiine tones and lastly tree from the Rooted in Nature stamp set.

We had fun combining different stitched shaped images - rectangles from the Rectangle Stitched Framelits, from the new Occasions Catalogue along with the circle cut from the Stitched Shape Framelits in the Annual Catalogue.

Our second card used the beautiful Share What You Love DSP, combined with Mint Macaroon and Rich Razzleberry card stock. don't be afraid to move the circle off the edge of the cardstock and trim it for a different look.
We tied the Linen Thread around twice tying it off with a bow, and added a small sentiment from Itty Bitty Greetings.

The next card used the Eastern Medallions Thinlits to cut the patterned window in the Whisper White card layer, which was adhered to the Bermuda Bay card base.
Using the Eastern Beauty stamp set, you can stamp any pattern across the Whisper White cardstock using the co-ordinating ink. The Bermuda Bay coloured circle also came from the same Thinlet set, and add another pop of colour.
The cards were then finished off with Bermuda Bay ribbon.

The last two cards used the delicate Delightfully Detailed Laser Cut Speciality Paper, which peeks through the window.
We punched a window in the Whisper White cardstock, added Tombow in a circle behind then 'dropped' the laser cut paper onto the glue.  This is an easy way to attach this delicate paper without having to glue along its fine lines.
These cards used Mango Melody and Granny Apple Green as bases.
The edging was made using a scalloped circle, and a smaller plain circle thinlet through the Bigshot together, to create the fine frame.
