Onstage in Auckland

Every 6 months Stampin' Up! offers us Onstage which consists of three types of events.

Onstage LIVE is a 3 day event which rotates around the three regions.  Onstage Local is a one day event which happens in a variety of locations in the other regions.

This time it was the South Pacific's turn to host the three day event and for the first time it was in NEW ZEALAND!  Here's some pics....

We always receive a fabulous bag with some nifty things in it.  This pic doesn't show it all.  But that's the bag, some file folders and a BIG spiral bound notebook.

Jenny in my team stayed in my hotel, a few doors along from me so we arrived together.

At check in, everyone is...well...checking in but also catching up and swapping.  Thee is a real buzz in the air.

Inside the stage is ready and the music is playing to get everyone excited.

The event had a fantastic New Zealand flavour throughout.  The opening included a welcome by Maori presenters.  Very powerful.

And the CEO Sara gave an opening address.  She always gives us some great food for thought and this time she focussed on making connections.  There was an ongoing theme throughout about how crafting and therefore connecting can help with mental health.

On the evening of the first night the leadership group were treated to a dinner at the Auckland War Museum.  This time we were welcomed by Shelli, the co-founder of Stampin' Up! (and Sara's mum!)

This is me with Em who is the Business Development Manager of Queensland and NZ.  She did a fabulous job of getting the whole event organised.

Me with Sara!

And with Angela who is also in my team.

One of the fun parts of the 3 day event is Prize Patrol!

Basically everyone wins a prize at some time during the event because SU! looks after us but you never know when your number will come up and what your prize will be!

And then there's an all attendee giveaway or two!  We all received one of the fabulous new DSPs.

Stampin' Up! always does a wonderful job decorating the tables - this is where we did out make and takes.

And the leadership group was given another training session and our tables looked like this!  Don't you love that placemat????  I think everyone saved theirs.

The next Onstage is November and it's a 'local' event which means a one day event in a few places.  Perth, Sydney and Auckland.  Looking forward to seeing a bunch of you there!

Here's the members of my team who made it to Auckland!

Thanks for stopping by!  If you would like to know more about the starter kit or about joining my team, the Lorikeet Stampers, email me at wheatonanna@hotmail.com!

Stampin Blends Club Part 3

Thursday 4th April Class

Techniques on Vellum

This was our 3rd class using Stampin' Up's ® Stampin' Blends and colouring on Vellum.

The first card above, used the All That You Are stamp set, with White embossing powder, to create the raised outline of the flowers. We used Poppy Parade cardstock and Stampin Blend in the same colour for one of the flowers, with Daffodil Delight for the other as an alternative.
The trick to this card, is to colour on the reverse side of the vellum.
Did you know that you can colour your ribbons and accessories using the Stampin' Blends?  The ribbon on both these cards was originally white but we used the brush tip end of our Blends to change the colour.

The second card, is the flower from the Beautiful Day stamp set with the outline stamped using Daffodil Delight ink, coloured with the Stampin Blends.
Both the Memento ink and the Classic range of colured inks are waterbased and therefore work with the alcohol markers.  Think 'opposites attract'!
The background is the Crackle Paint stamp from the current Occasions Catalogue, and the base is Old Olive. The Blends were used to colour the pearls too, to add an extra dimension to the card.

We still have one more Blends classes in my series of 4 to learn about the many techniques for these beautiful Stampin' Blends. I am looking forward to seeing what new colours are added when th4e Annual Catalogue comes out.

I run regular classes on the Gold Coast for these techniques and many more.  Beginner, casual and avid crafters are all welcome!  Contact me for more information.
