Well hello

At the same as saying good-bye to the retiring 'stuff' we'll soon be saying hello to lots of gorgeous new stamp sets, papers and accessories.  As a demonstrator, I get to have a play a month early.

Here's a sneek peek of one of the DSPs coming our way.  I think I like it as much as the old Jolly Holiday, the way you can mix all the patterns together.  In fact, I have made this exact design with Jolly Holiday DSP.

Loving getting into the Christmas spirit by getting my cards organised!!  It will be here before we know it!

This paper is called Be of Good Cheer and it's just one of the many Christmas papers to chooses from in our Annual Catalogue AND our Holiday Catalogue, both coming out in September!

Easter Class Baskets and Box

Hi Everyone

I saw this Easter Box on Monica Gale's blog and knew that we had to do it in a class.  I thought she was such a gorgeous bunny - how could I resist?  I did very little to change her.

Her back and front are made onto the Top Note die and these are stuck onto a Fancy Favours box.  Isn't she a cutey?

We also made these gorgeous baskets.   This one starts with a 15 x 15 cm piece of cardstock but you can make a larger version that is 21 x 21cm or a smaller version 9 x 9 cm.

They are quite easy to make once you have a bit of a fiddle.  Instructions for this basket can be found HERE.

Big Shot and Fabric

My most recent class was using the Big Shot and Fabric. Demonstrators were shown some excellent ideas at Convention of how to combine fabric with all the beautiful dies and embossing folders.

Our first project was using felt with the Blossom Party die glued onto the Top Note die to make a beautiful gift tag.  The ladies came up with some stunning colour combinations.

Card:  Whisper White. Old Olive

I dug out some Christmas material from my cupboard which we cut out with the Fun Flowers die to make a Christmas brooch and a fabric focussed card.

Accessories:  Christmas Material (non SU!)

Our other two projects used the beautiful SU! fabric which co-ordinates with the colours and stamps.  This butterfly card uses the Beau Chateau fabric.

Father's Day Treats

My son's school is having a Father's Day stall this week so I have made up some treat bags to sell.  It was very quick and easy with the Big Shot and the Top Note die.

I liked packaging the Licorice Allsorts with striped ribbon.



Mini Lunch Sacks and Top Note Die

I taught this Top Note Bag idea in a recent class but have also had a number of people ask how it's done. So here are some basic instructions.

You need a Mini Lunch Sack and two Top Note die cutouts.

Cut three inches (7.5 cm) off the bottom of the bag.  In my class I made the mistake of telling everyone to cut three inches off the top...it makes a difference.

Carefully remove the cardboard base from inside the bag and set it aside.  Snail one side of the bag.

Adhere this to a Top Note, cut out using the Big Shot.  (Mine is cut out in Crumb cake)

Fold the base of the bag down so that the other side of the bag is flattened and exposed.  Snail this side of the bag.

Adhere the other Top Note on top, lining it up with the first.

Carefull move the sides of the bag so that they stick out, allowing you to move your oval punch into place to punch out a handle.  Bring the two sides together and punch through the first handle hole to make the second one.

Reform the shape of the Mini Lunch Sack and decorate as desired.  If using straight away, snail the insert that you removed earlier back into place.  Otherwise, the bag can be folded and stored flat and the insert replaced later.

Big Shot workshop

Yesterday was the first of our Big Shot classes which introduced some ladies to the Big Shot for the first time.  We made some fab projects which are given such zing when the Big Shot is in action.

I have shown a similar card to this before, but it's a great example of a spectacular card that is easy to produce using the Big Shot and the Elegant Lines textured Impressions folder.

Simplicity is the key for this male card using the Inlaid Embossing technique.

The Faux suede technique, using the Beautiful Butterflies Bigz die.

Some patchworking given that something extra using the Top Note die - exclusive to Stampin' Up!

Night Owl

I love the new owl punch - it's really easy to put together a cute card.  Different colour combinations combined with different patterns of paper can give you a variety of 'characters'.

Here he is on a full sized card using Soft Suede and Baja Breeze.  By giving him a background of a Top Note, he is a picture of elegance.

White on White

White on white combine in spectacular fashion to create eye catching creations.  These note cards are created using the 7 x 9.8 cm Gift Cards and various punched shapes.  Popped into the Medium Cello Bags with a topper made using the Big Shot Top Note Die, they make a cute gift.  The Basic Gray ink for the gift label is more subtle than black.
