Tape It

A quick card for you today using the Tape It set.

  • Get the look of washi tape with a stamp!  The Tape It set has a great variety of patterns with 'torn' ends...just like washi.
  • Stuck on a colour combination?  I took my colour combination inspiration from the colours in the Watercolour Wonder DSP.
  • For a fun sentiment I chose the Happy Birthday from the Bring on the Cake stamp set.

Hexagons are IN

One of the beautiful new products in the Seasonal Mini is a Haxagon Textured Embossing Folder.

It's a lovely one to run through the Big Shot - the embossing is so clear.

  • Run a piece of Whisper White through the Hexagon TEF and cut out one of the hexagons
  • This can be used as a template to cut out the shape from DSP
  • Snail each hexagon into the spaces on another 'hexagoned' piece.  The results are stunning.  In this card, I have picked out all the Midnight Muse patterns from Print Poetry DSP and trimmed with Midnight Muse ribbon

Tea for Two DSP

I am not sure what this type of card is called but it's super quick and easy and the results can be very different depending on the DSP you use.  This is the Tea for two DSP fomr the new Seasonal Mini.

These card are made using four pieces of DSP, cut simultaneously in a stack into four pieces of varying sizes.  The pieces are then shuffled around to reform the original shape but it is made up of four different patterns.  These are then snailed onto a card front and embellished.  Confused?  Yeah, I was too.  Maybe some pics will help.

A 'portrait version'...

...embellished with one of the Beautiful Wings butterflies.

And another...

...embellished with a Designer Builder Brad from the new Mini.  I love the effect of the epoxy bubble over the centre.

And here's a landscape version...

...embellished with one of the many sentiments from Bring on the Cake and an Itty Bitty punched flower.

And lastly...

...a simple embellishment using one of our new Framelits called Hearts a Flutter.  You can find this beautiful Framelits set on page 11 of our new Seasonal catalogue, along with its co-ordinating stamp set.

Charity update....and a card

I am pleased to be able to let you know that I have mailed off 320 cards today for Australian Armed Forces!  The cards were bagged in groups of 10.  Here are the boxes ready to go.  Thankyou to my hubby who donated the postage costs.

And I have also received a letter from Gold Coast Children's Hospital thanking us for our donation of $160 which we raised through the raffle at our catalogue launch.

Thanks so much to everyone who donated their time and money to both of these worthy causes!

And...a card

This is a simple card adapted from a design on page 53 of the catalogue.  It showcases the In Colors.

If you like the In Colors, there is a fantastic deal in the catalogue - the five ink pads plus 20 sheets of matching cardstock for $47.95.  That's a discount on your ink pads (which would add up to $49.75) and, in effect, a free pack of paper!

Email me or phone if you would like to place an order!

New Catalogue? New ideas!

To view the new Annual catalogue AND the Holiday Catalogue, click on the links to the left.
But have a look at my cards first!

Summer Smooches is one of my favourites of the new DSPs.  It's so fresh.  I've teamed it with some old and new stamp sets.

One of the new stamp sets that we received FREE at Convention was Memorable Moments.  That spotty frame is one of the images.

Love the bright colour combinations.  And flagged ends on strips of DSP are everywhere.   The diagonal background is done on the Simply Scored Scoring Tool.

Stamps:  Memorable Moments, Bring on the Cake
Card:  Summer Smooches DSP, Whisper White, Daffodil Delight, Rich Razzleberry
Ink:  Rich Razzleberry
Tools:   Simply Scored Scoring Tool, Big Shot, Labels Collection Framelits, Polka Dot TEF

Spinner Card

A recent hostess asked me to demonstrate a spinner card.  I had never made one before but knew that the monkey from Fox and Friends would be the perfect 'spinner.'
We ended up making a different colour combination to this one, so if I put my leftovers together I'll post the other version.

A great video tutorial can be found HERE.  Angie Juda, an American demonstrator explains it well, although I simplified it a little with no template and less layers.

Stamps:  Bring On The Cake, Fox and Friends
Card:  Chocolate Chip, Pink Pirouette DSP (retired), Whisper White
Ink:  Chocolate Chip
Tools:  Word Window Punch, 4.4 cm Scallop Circle Punch, 3.5 cm Circle Punch

Love and Care CASE

If you haven't visited Tenneale Williams' blog yet, it is worth a visit.  Each of her cards is a work of art.  My card below is a CASE of one of her beautiful designs.  Again, the flower and stem are so easy to colour separately, using the Stampin' Write markers.  I have used Concord Crush and Old Olive.

The sentiment is from the same stamp set.

This sentiment is from Bring On the Cake in the current mini.

Telescoping Circles Card

This new style of card is Blogland.  It's a really different style of card and such a fun idea.  I made one with my ladies in a recent workshop and it was a big hit.

To the untrained eye it appears to be a circular card...but when opened up...

There are three parts to it!  Surprise!!

The bottom circle is a BigZ Scallop Circle die.  The other circles are cut using the Circle Scissors.

If you are interested in making your own, there is a fantastic video tutorial here.

Keep checking in for a few more examples.

Stamps:  Fifth Avenue Floral, Bring On the Cake
Card:  Elegant Eggplant, Whisper White
Ink:  Perfect Plum, Old Olive
Tools:  Big Shot, Scallop Circle Bigz Die, Circle Scissors, 2mm Circle Punch
Accessories:  Gold Brads, Old Olive Satin Ribbon, Stamping Sponges
