Stampin Blends Round 2

New Stampin Blends Colours

With the new 2019 Stampin Up ® Catalogue out and some new Blends colours, it's time for a new Blends Club.
I have 8 ladies for this round.  We are practising our blending and trying new techniques.

Using the new Purple Posy Blends for the largest flower from Good Morning Magnolia , darkening with Highland Heather Blends, and using Old Olive for the leaves, this layered card was loved by all in my class.

The second card we made, used the Bloom and Grow stamp set and Dies. We used the Rococo Rose Blends for the flowers, with a touch of Yellow on the berries, to make this card pop.

Lastly, I sent home the components for the card above as homework for my class. It uses the beautiful Hostess Stamp Set - New Wonders, which is the little fairy, mixed with the flowers again from Bloom and Grow.  I am looking forward to seeing the different versions everyone brings back.

If you are interested in trying out Blends, come and join us.

Thanks for stopping by.  If you are interested in knowing more about Stampin' Up!, the starter kit or joining in my events, please contact me at wheatonanna@hotmail.com or phone me on 07 55 765 469.  I live on the Gold Coast, Australia and would love to help you.

Fabulous Foils

Last week I ran a class using Stampin' Up!® foils and all sorts of great techniques.

The ladies loved it.

Two cards explored the Tarnished Foil technique where we built up layers of black StazOn and Copper and Gold Embossing Folder.  The results are amazing and work so well with the Garage Gears Thinlits.

We used the same technique on the second card using Copper Foil and also the Tin Tile Embossing Folder.

Our last card used the Black Ice Technique.  This is a surprisingly easy technique where you drag the StazOn over the foil to achieve fine black stripes.  The tree was also stamped in black StazOn.  The last step is to swipe Versamark in the same direction and sprinkle with Clear Embossing Powder.  When you heat is, that's where the magic happens - fine icy stripes show up on your foil! Stunning.

If you LOVE Stampin' Up! products. our new catalogue starts on June 4.  It's packed with fun goodies for you to get inky with.  Contact me for a copy.

Thanks for stopping by!

DSP Blitz

Using your DSP

My class on Tuesday 14th May, focussed on using up your DSP stocks - we all do it: we hold on to it, because we love our DSP, but we have lots of stock to use up to make way for the new Stampin Up ® Catalogue coming on June 4th 2019.  Can't wait!!!

We explored a mix of using Stampin Up ® envelopes which we decorated (above), and creating our own envelopes from DSP using the retiring Envelope Punch Board (below) with matching single sheet note cards.

It was as simple as punching out circles, in the matching DSP below, and a strip to decorate the envelope, to create a pretty 'Thank You' card.

The last two cards below, again match the colours in the DSP, to the card front and the envelope.  We used the tailored Tag Punch to lay a pattern across the front of the card.  It's the perfect punch for creating interesting patterns on cards with DSP or plain cardstock.

Don't you love that 'Smile' sentiment?  It's from a new stamp set in the upcoming Annual Catalogue called Daisy Lane.  And the 'thank you so very much' is from Butterfly Gala which is carrying over.

Thanks for stopping by.  If you are interested in knowing more about Stampin' Up!, the starter kit or joining in my events, please contact me at wheatonanna@hotmail.com or phone me on 07 55 765 469.  I live on the Gold Coast, Australia and would love to help you.

Stampin Blends Club Part 3

Thursday 4th April Class

Techniques on Vellum

This was our 3rd class using Stampin' Up's ® Stampin' Blends and colouring on Vellum.

The first card above, used the All That You Are stamp set, with White embossing powder, to create the raised outline of the flowers. We used Poppy Parade cardstock and Stampin Blend in the same colour for one of the flowers, with Daffodil Delight for the other as an alternative.
The trick to this card, is to colour on the reverse side of the vellum.
Did you know that you can colour your ribbons and accessories using the Stampin' Blends?  The ribbon on both these cards was originally white but we used the brush tip end of our Blends to change the colour.

The second card, is the flower from the Beautiful Day stamp set with the outline stamped using Daffodil Delight ink, coloured with the Stampin Blends.
Both the Memento ink and the Classic range of colured inks are waterbased and therefore work with the alcohol markers.  Think 'opposites attract'!
The background is the Crackle Paint stamp from the current Occasions Catalogue, and the base is Old Olive. The Blends were used to colour the pearls too, to add an extra dimension to the card.

We still have one more Blends classes in my series of 4 to learn about the many techniques for these beautiful Stampin' Blends. I am looking forward to seeing what new colours are added when th4e Annual Catalogue comes out.

I run regular classes on the Gold Coast for these techniques and many more.  Beginner, casual and avid crafters are all welcome!  Contact me for more information.

Stampin' Blends Club Part 2

Thursday 7th March Class

Stampin' Blends

This was our second class of Blends Club and we explored light sources and giving objects shape through shading.

For the first card we used the Varied Vases Stamp Set, colouring the vases with the Light and Dark Old Olive. The flowers were coloured in with Highland Heather Light and Dark, and Pool Party.

It's important to use Memento Ink for stamped images when using the Blends.  We saturated each of the images with the lighter colour blend then applied the darker colour the daker areas then blended with the light colour.

For the second card, we used the Tea Together Stamp Set from the 2019 Occasions Catalogue, and coloured the teapot and tea cup in Light and Dark Pool Party. The flowers were coloured in Highland Heather and Old Olive was used for the leaves. The backing used the Sale-a-bration embossing folder  - Country Floral Dynamic Textured Impressions.

Both the Country Floral Embossing Folder and the Tea Time Framelits Dies are FREE during Sale-a-Bration.

We still have two more Blends classes in my series of 4 to learn about the many techniques for these beautiful Stampin' Blends. They are so versatile and completely change the characteristics of many of the stamp sets.

I run regular classes on the Gold Coast for these techniques and many more.  Beginner, casual and avid crafters are all welcome!  Contact me for more information.

Jar of Love + Painted Season + Gingham Gala DSP

My focus this week is JARS!

Jar of Love in the Annual Catalogue is one of my favourite sets - so much so that I have bought it a second time because my first set has been used to death.

I don't know why but I am drawn to jars.

These come with matching Framelits which makes the set even dinkier in my opinion!

And because I used the Gingham Gala DSP, I had to make one in each colour.....

The flowers are stamped with one of the beautiful images from the Painted Seasons stamp set which is bundled with DSP for a SAB freebee.

The Framelits for the Painted Season stamp set will be available for purchase in March along with framelits for a number of other SAB sets.

The large scallop is one of my all time favourite dies from the Seasonal Layers Thinlits in the Annual Catalogue.  It's such a handy accent for cards.

And I added some bling using the Gingham Gala Adhesive Backed Sequins....So easy to apply because....well....they have adhesive backs!

Did you notice I switched the DSP over so that some were the big checks and some were the small checks??

Do you drool over all this lovely papery fun???  Do you have a shopping list that is looooong?  did you know that you can join my team as a Hobby Demonstrator which means that you can buy all your goodies for a 20% discount?

And Sale-a-Bration is a fantastic time to join.
