Beautiful Baubles Charity Day October 2018

I am delighted to report that through Stampin Up ®, our wider team the Paper Angels and my team The Lorikeet Stampers we helped raise over $4000 for the Footprint Cards program.

This is a wonderful effort from everyone, and all achieved through a day sharing our love of all things inky.

There were 6 events all like ours that took place in Brisbane, on the Sunshine Coast, and on the Gold Coast. I wanted to show you the projects we made, and have waited until the last of the events took place last Saturday, so as not to spoil the surprise of the projects for others reading my blog.

Thanks so much to Genesis Christian Ministries in Carrara who allow us to use their space so generously.

Below are some photos from the day, and projects we made.

Our Projects

The projects all focussed on the Beautiful Baubles stamp set, and Detailed Baubles Thinlits Dies, from the Stampin Up ® Holiday Catalogue.

This card above used the baby wipe technique, where we dripped similar colours in pinks, greens, blues and purples, onto a baby wipe, and then used that as the ink pad. It creates this lovely effect of different shades on the one bauble. We also used the lovely silver edged cards and envelopes to complete the effect.

We decorated one of the clear acetate card boxes, to store the Baby Wipe technique cards. The band around the box, has silver embossed baubles, and Silver Edged Ribbon to finish it off. The silver and white theme is so effective.

The card above used the same large bauble stamp and Frosted Floral DSP. The front of the card is folded back which gives a different dimension to the card. We then used DSP on the flap of the envelope to continue the silver and white theme.

This lovely green coloured card is a gatefold, and the Pear Pizzazz embossed section, fits through the darker green circle. The green leaf paper also comes from the Frosted Floral DSP.  It's almost gum leaf-ish!

These beautiful gift tags use the Rich Razzleberry and Tranquil Tide Velvet Ribbon, with the same coloured die cut lanterns.

The card above uses the repetitive pattern of the baubles, stamped on Shimmer White paper, and then the same again stamped on the Mint Macaron cardstock, and cut out and raised on dimensionals.

The Kraft Pillow Box above is wrapped in Silver Glimmer Paper and Frosted Floral DSP, and uses the Rich Razzleberry Velvet Ribbon to finish off.  We coloured the Basic Rhinestones using Blackberry Bliss Stampin' Blend.

The last project, are the 4 small gift cards above, which use the large bauble image and the Blackberry Bliss and Tranquil Tide cardstock and inks.

Our Displays

We had a wonderful collection of cards and boxes to display showing off the products from the Holiday Catalogue.

The Raffle

The Raffle was as popular as ever, with lots of prizes to share out with everyone.

I am so grateful for the support of my team who help prepare and run the day.  I also appreciate all the wonderful customers who attend these days and make them fun and support our raffles.

Our individual event raised $600.

Thanks for stopping by!

Tag, You're It! Stampin' Up!s Tin of Tags

As you are making your Christmas cards, don't forget that the packaging of gifts can be fun too!

On Saturday I held my Tin of Tags class.  I provided the stamp set and the ladies in attendance bought the tin.

I had already assembled my tags so that they had samples....

The kit is fantastic and the stamp set is even more 'fantasticer'.  I love that it includes stamps that can be used all year round.

Because I had assembled my kit already, but had to run my class, I made my own versions...  When you have a few punches and die shapes you can pair them with stamps to create your own tags, inspired by the originals.  I had enough washi tape and sparkle left over to embellish!!  Lots of our stamp sets have watercolour 'swooshes' which were a perfect solution/substitute.

Same same but different!

How much time do you have?  I'll show you the full set. The original tag is the one at the top....

The Tin of Tags would make the perfect gift assembled or unassembled.  You get three of each tag so you could even make them up, divide them into three sets and package them as three gifts.  Then YOU get to keep the tin!  (I know you had  your eye on it!)

The stamp set is also on special this month  $37 down to $27.75.

Contact me to order or visit my online store to order.  The current hostess code (entered in the shopping basket) is PHMHSNWT.

Thanks for stopping by!  Tag, you're it!

Tag Love

I've been packaging up my sister's birthday present this weekend and using some new products from the Holiday catalogue.

The Cheerful Tags Framelits Dies are so very cute, cutting and scoring the tag shapes.  One is designed especially to hang over a bottle neck.

Here's the other one which I have paired (no pun intended) with the Fruit Stand DSP.  The strawberries are cut out of the DSP!

There are also plenty of packaging options in the catalogue.   These White Gift Boxes have an acetate sleeve which slides over them.

And to complete the look I added some strawberry flowers to the sides of the box.  These are set off nicely with our Enamel Dots.  Scrummy!

Love our enamel dots?  They are on special this week!  Check them out here.

Thanks for stopping by!

Special Delivery and an Easter project

Last Wednesday I drove to John Flynn Hospital to deliver our card making kits.  These were assembled using the money we raised at the Christmas Charity Workshop last year.  Seven ladies helped to assemble them which I wrote about in this post HERE.

Liz is the volunteer co-ordinator at John Flynn and she is very enthusiastic to receive our help.  Here is the lovely Liz with two of the kits.  Thanks Liz!!

Late last year we  provided John Flynn with a Footprint Cards Kit.  Liz presented us with a letter of thanks from the hospital.

Dear Ms Wheaton

I am writing to express my appreciation of your donation to our Maternity Unit at John Flynn Private Hospital.  Your donation of foot and handprint cards for our deceased and premature babies is appreciated.  Thank you to the kind volunteers who assist you in putting these beautiful kits together for our families.

Our volunteer coordinator has expressed her appreciation in your enthusiasm to assist with volunteer projects to commence in 2016 namely card scrapbooking sessions for our rehabilitation patients.  On behalf of John Flynn Private Hospital, thank you for your generosity.

Diann Sapwell
Director of Clinical Services

Thanks to all the ladies who have helped to assemble Footprint cards and Card Making Kits.  It's a team of willing people who make this possible!  More sessions to come.

How are your Easter projects going?  One of my favourite demonstrators is Becky Roberts of Inking Idaho.  I love her projects and often they take my breath away.  I love this tag design with a cute little bunny and I have made it up into kits for my stamp club girls this month.  A bunny tag on a bunny tag kit.

Don't forget that Sale-a-Bration finishes at the end of the month.  What does this MEAN???

  • Last chance to get a freebee with each $90 spend
  • Last chance to join up for $169 and get $295 of product (I have lots of ladies taking up this offer!)
  • Last chance to get extra freebees when you host a party
Contact me if you would like more information!

Thanks for stopping by!

Bohemian DSP

We have a new DSP coming and it's a delicious combination of colours!

These gift tag pockets show the two sides of the DSP - the bold and bright patterns, backed with the more subtle designs.  Each pocket is embellished with a co-ordinating bow made using the Bow Builder Punch.  Too cute!

Each tag is topped with the new Washi tape and punched out with the Ornate Tag Topper Punch.

These goodies AND MORE are available from June 2nd.

How can I play with them and see them in the flesh???  If you live on the Gold Coast, I am having a catalogue launch!  Come along and see for your self what all the excitement is about.

Convention Fun

Convention started today!  Demonstrators from Australia and New Zealand have gathered on the Gold Coast to be inspired.

Many demonstrators prepare swaps - usually a card front which they swap with others to get new ideas.

I made some gift tag pouches.  I have seen a few of these on blogs and Pinterest and liked that they were a little different.

We have a fabulous time at our classes which are held on the Gold Coast in the Burleigh Waters area.

My schedule for next month is ready if you would like to check it out.  Click HERE.  You can even book online.

We Washi You a Merry Christmas

It's getting close to present wrapping time.  That's when you discover you haven't enough tags.  Here's a super quick idea.

  • Cut A4 lengthwise into two 10 cm strips.  Put washi tape along the long side - I used three strips from the Santa and Co. washi tape.
  • Cut along long side at 5cm intervals.
  • You'll end up with five tags from each strip each measuring 10cm x 5 cm.
  • Insert the washi end into the Scallop Tag Topper Punch and corner round the corners of the other end.
  • Stamp with a Christmas greeting.
  • Thread linen thread through the hole and voila!

Easy peasy!  Tags galore.
