Hummingbird House Charity Day Part 3! The projects and the final total.

Last weekend my team the Lorikeet Stampers ran a charity day to raise money for Hummingbird House, one of three children's hospices in Australia.

Our charity days are usually based around a stamp set.  The fee for the day includes the stamp set and our projects are designed around the stamp set.  This year the set was Vibrant Vases and my friend Bec Ross and I designed the projects together.

We had fun using the Gingham Gala DSP to make this cute little basket and teeny cards.

Then we switched to a black and white theme to make this notecard box based on a Pootles design.

One of my amazing team members cut out the smallest Stitched Square for everybody. That's approximately 384 squares!!!!!!!! These cards were a bit of play time where customers could decide on their own layouts and stamps.

And another box - the Mini Pizza Boxes - we did a little watercolouring of these images using our Aquapainters,

We've done Mini Pizza Boxes before and usually include mini cards and envelopes.   This time we wanted something a little different so we made the card below....

It's a concertina card!  It's a design that you can make longer if you wish by adding more folded card stock.

We also had a bonus project which we all got around to doing, of a chocolate tray that fits in the pizza box.  Cute!

Our last two projects were two full size cards - this one used the Wood Crate Framelits to make a crate of cards.

And the last project featured wooden vases punched out using the coordinating punch.

For more posts about the day you can check mu other blog entries.

You can see us in action in this post HERE.

And some of the Lucky Door Prizes HERE.

And the final fundraising tally is 'in'.  We have raised a total of $784 for Hummingbird House!  PLUS a donation of $200 was given directly to Hummingbird as a result of our event.

So that's an impressive $984.

Thank you to everyone who came along to take part and supported this cause so generously.  We are very fortunate to receive a box of retired goodies from Stampin' Up! for our raffle.

Hummingbird House Charity Day Part 2

I am going to sound like a broken record when  say that one of my favourite things to do is pretty up a package.  For our Charity Day we have a raffle but we also have some Lucky Door Prizes.  And just as I can't mail a plain envelope, I can't give a plain Lucky Door Prize.  (One year I prettied them up and left them at home!!)  We hide them under chairs and hide lucky symbols in all sorts of places.

Here they are....

Love love love (!!) the Mini Pizza Boxes - these contained a bolt of ribbon.

Our soon to retire Mini Gable Boxes are the perfect size for a little something.  I ran these ones through the Tin Tile Embossing Folder.  The Tin Tile Embossing folder is staying around.  The Mini Gable Boxes are not.

A flat pack embellishment is easy to pretty up with some DSP and some ribbon.  Love the bright colours in this How Sweet It Is DSP which is also retiring!!

And... not a LDP but a thank you for those that ran tables.  I have to admit these were done at then end of the time frame but they were pretty quick and simple for a good result!  These cute birds are part of a new stamp set coming in the new Annual Catalogue. And brown paper goes with anything right?

Our Hummingbird House Charity Day

We had a fantastic day on Saturday!  The Lorikeet Stampers ran a charity day to raise money for craft supplies for Hummingbird House!

The day wouldn't be possible without the help of a whole bunch of people.  This is the team that ran the tables.

But I also had help with cutting and packing kits, prepping raffle prizes, prepping the bags and naming them, preparing samples for each table, setting up, creating and setting up displays, preparing food, running the kitchen, taking photos, running tables (even by two of you who had no customers), tidying up, packing down, vacuuming and loading cars.

And here's Trudi who bravely offered to run the kitchen!  She bakes the most amaaaazing cakes.  Others in the team also brought platters of food and we had Subway rolls for lunch.

Here are some table pics.

Stampin' Up! gives us a box of retired goodies which we raffle and the money raised goes towards Hummingbird House.

Here's hubby's realistic drawing of a hummingbird.  He generously tried to give me credit for this amazing drawing but I mustn't have you admire it without knowing the real illustrator.

Stamps or chocolates...stamps or chocolates....stamps AND chocolates!!

We also try to have a display.  It was fantastic.  And much bigger than this.  I went over many times to take more photos and there were people admiring all the lovely work so I couldn't get a good shot.  And this one has a gap where a card has fallen off!  Oops!

All up we had 32 people attend and we raised $659 for Hummingbird House along with an additional $200 donated directly to Hummingbird!

Thank you to everyone who attended and supported this cause and to everyone who helped prepare and run it.

Stampin' Up! CEO Sara Douglas gave us four reasons for getting together and stamping.

Connect with yourself
Connect through creativity
Connect through caring
Create a community

I think Saturday was a great example of all four!

Pop in again for some pics of the projects we made.

Thanks for stopping by.  If you are interested in knowing more about Stampin' Up!, the starter kit or joining in my events, please contact me at wheatonanna@hotmail.com or phone me on 07 55 765 469.

A happy Saturday had by all

Hi Folks

My blogging has been poor of late as I have been busy preparing for yesterday!  We held a charity day to raise money for Hummingbird House.  We will be providing them with memory keeping materials and equipment to help families record special moments.

Here's a bunch of random shots to give you a feel of how the day went!

We will be providing Hummingbird House with Stampin' Up!s Memories and More albums.  We had one on display along with some Hummingbird House pamphlets

Funds are raised from our fantastic raffle with products donated by Stampin' Up!

We display lots of samples to give attendees inspiration and ideas.  Thanks Jenny for your Sale of the Century hand waving.

One of fabulous team member Maree prepared loads of delicious food and picked up our Subway lunch!

See her clever use of Stampin' Up! products on her signs.

And there was an enormous amount of fun to be had.  Caroline ran the lucky door prizes.

We made a heap of fabulous projects.

My hubby and son pitched in with the heavy lifting and raffle ticket selling.  (That's two different jobs - the raffle tickets weren't that heavy!)

Here's Isabella working away, assisted by Jennifer.

Caroline and Kirsten ran a table together.

And there was lots of fun and sillyness!

Thanks everyone for my flowers and thanks Angela for being such a super  help.  Really couldn't do these things without you!

And even the clean up was fun!!

Thanks to everyone who was involved in the fantastic and fun day.  It took a group of volunteers to prepare all the bits and pieces for the kits and then to run the day!  It's not something you can do alone.

All up we have raised $527 fro Hummingbird House.  This is the result of the raffle proceeds and two outside donations of $100 and $50.  Well done us!!

Thanks everyone who contributed.
