Mum and Dad's card

I showed you my first take on Mum and Dad's card a few posts ago.  Here's what I ended up with.

They wanted the traditional Christmas colours of green and red, so I made thirty cards, 15 on a Cherry Cobbler base and 15 on Gumball Green.

And..I had a Happy Christmas stamp all along!

Don't be afraid to mix up colours - the Festival of Prints uses Lucky Limeade as its green, but this worked fine against the Gumball Green background.  Also, the neutral colour in the DSP is Very Vanilla but I chose to stamp on Whisper White as the prints I chose to use had minimal Very Vanilla in them.

Stamps:  First Christmas, More Merry Messages
Card:  Whisper White, Gumball Green, Festival of Prints DSP
Ink:  Early Espresso
Tools:  Apothecary Accents Framelits

I have been working on lots of items for a market on Sunday so stay tuned for a few of those!

Gift Tags

We made four of these gift tags in my most recent class.

We experimented with Glimmer Paper and the Scalloped Tulle Ribbon.

Stampin' Up!s Glimmer Paper provides the perfect accent to any projects but especially Christmas creations.  Have you tried snailing the back?  It's really tricky!

My tip?  Apply one of Stampin' Up!s Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets to a whole sheet of Glimmer paper.  It will then be completely covered, ready for punching or cutting.  The peel off backing then means you can apply each piece as you would a sticker.  Well worth the effort!

Stamps:  More Merry Messages, Ornament Keepsakes
Card:  Very Vanilla, Gumball Green, Cherry Cobbler, Be of Good Cheer DSP, Glimmer Paper
Ink:  Cherry Cobbler
Tools:  Big Shot, Two Tags Die, 3.2cm Scallop Circle Punch, 4.4cm Scallop Circle Punch, 2.5 cm Circle Punch, 1.9 cm Circle Punch
Accessories:  Cherry Cobbler Scalloped Tulle Ribbon, Linen Thread

Thanks for stoppping by!

First Christmas and Apothecary Framelits

I am loving the new stamp pads and the solid image they give with many of our new stamp sets.  I am experimenting with some designs for my parents' Christmas cards.  Dad always like his cards to say Happy Christmas rather than Merry, but such a stamp is hard to find.

I love this shape from the Apothecary Accents Framelits.  It reminds me of a stained glass window shape in a church and reinforces the religious significance of the day.

Mum and Dad want to go with green and red colour combination so some more experimenting is on order.  I'll let you know what I come up with!

Stamps:  First Christmas, More Merry Messages
Card:  Early Espresso, Riding Hood Red, Island Indigo, Festival of Prints DSP, Whisper White

Perfectly Preserved Christmas Gift Tags

I have been having a lot of fun lately with the Perfectly Preserved stamp set and matching framelits.

I saw the cutest project on Becky Roberts' blog which I CASEd but in a Christmas theme.

Becky points out that the framelits are only meant to go through one layer of cardstock but the Whisper White and Very Vanilla cut on the fold work well.  Loving the Be of Good Cheer DSP.

Wouldn't these make cute, inexpensive gifts for all sorts of people?
