It's easy to stamp a banana...

But hard to stamp an egg...

One of the lovely ladies who came to our Paper Angels Christmas Card Workshop has special dietary needs and said she'd be right with 'a banana and a boiled egg.'

So the challenge was on.  Here is her Stampin' Up! banana.  Easy to stamp using Staz On ink.

And here is her egg - really hard to stamp on those curves!!

Stamps:  Workshop Words,  Tiny Tags
Card:  No card, just an egg and a banana
Ink:  Black Staz On

Pizza anyone

In our most recent class, it was all about the pizza.  Well..the pizza box anyway.  And a smaller version of it.  Made especially for dads for Father's Day.

Our pizza box was 10cm by 10 cm.  Do you like the top?  Would you believe it's gutter flashing?

I bought a roll of it at Bunnings, cut out squares with scissors and ran them through the embossing folder (in this case, a non SU!)  The results are spectacular.  This would be great on a card front too.  Inside we added an insert for a gift card and...surprise, surprise....the old Aldi chocolates fit perfectly.

I got the idea from HERE at Papercraft Planet.

Here is another top, done with the Vintage Wallpaper TEF.

Stamps:  Tiny Tags
Card:  Crumb Cake, Early Espresso
Ink:  Early Espresso
Tools: Big Shot, Vintage Wallpaper TEF, 1/2" Circle Punch, Jewellery Tag Punch
Accessories:  Mini Library Clips, Jute string (non SU!), Gutter Flashing

Thanks for stopping by!

Simply Adorned 2

So I have had a fiddle with the Simply Adorned charms which are very cute.  The Circle Charm fits the 1/2" circle punch (or should that be the other way around?)

I have photographed these at night so they are not the best quality...but you get the idea.

I stamped on Pretty In Pink using one of the flourishes from the Tiny Tags set.  Over the top, using Concord Crush, I stamped a butterfly from Up In the Air, the hostess set in the current Summer Mini.

The other side of the charm....my initial is computer generated - I did not have a stamp sized for such a small space.

And of course, I can change the images whenever I want by just opening the charm and switching the design.

Just Add Ink Challenge 102

If you are stuck for ideas for creating cards, there are plenty of challenge blogs on the net.  It's fun to try a challenge once in awhile to take you outside your comfort zone!  One site I like to visit is Just Add Ink.  This year, I hope to enter a few more of their challenges!  (I entered only one last year!)

This week's challenge is Just Add Kathy Tanner.  Challenge participants visit Kathy's blog, choose a card and CASE it.  This is the card created by Kathy that I chose.

I loved the one little brad in the corner and the tiny tags on the bow.  The red butterfly in the centre also caught my eye.  Here is my version.

Kathy used some Smooch Spritz on the swirly underneath panel.  I used Shimmer Paint Spray.  You can juuuust see it in the picture below....or maybe not.

Pop on over to Just Add Ink to see the other entries.

Stamps:  Tiny Tags, Elements of Style, En Francais
Card:  Crumb Cake, Whisper White, Cherry Cobbler
Ink: Whisper White Craft Ink, Crumb Cake
Tools:  Big Shot, Beautiful Wings Embosslits die, Jewellery Tag Punch, Paper Piercer, Scallop Trim Border Punch

Soft and Subtle Baby

I have been making some sample cards for my upline and the latest batch have been some baby cards using the Nursery Nest product suite on page 52 of the catalogue.  I thought I would sneak one of the cards onto my blog.

I still have trouble putting my Aviary birds into the cages.

Need some inspiration?  The samples in the catalogue are perfect and you'll find co-ordinating DSP to go with the stamp set.   I bought the set last year.  Who'd have thought to use it for baby cards?

Have you spotted the new glimmer paper in the Summer Mini?  It comes in red and silver and is so beautifully sparkly.  It's easy to punch from and it doesn't 'shed' glitter as you use it.
I've used it on the tag detail here.

If you would like to order anything from Stampin' Up! please give me a call on 55 765 469 or email me at wheatonanna@hotmail.com

Baby Booties

The new Stocking Tag Punch is not just for Christmas stockings.  Here I have used it for some cute baby cards.  Sorry the photo is a bit dull - it was taken on a rainy day.

And I love the Baby Tees jumbo wheel which I have never actually used as a wheel - I tend to roll out the pattern and then cut out the individual suits.  Sooo cute.

The gorgeous scallop circle is from the new Perfect Pennants die.

Stamps:  Stitched Stockings, Baby Tees Jumbo Wheel, Tiny Tags
Card:  Pink Pirouette, Whisper White, Pink Pirouette DSP (these patterns now retired, but the Subtles DSP Paper Stack is a beautiful alternative

Convention Swap

One of the fun parts of Convention..no wait...everything is fun!  A fun start to Convention is the swaps.  This is optional but most people do it.  You prepare a card front many times over and include a 'recipe' of the products and colours you used.  You then swap these with other demonstrators and get a whole bunch of ideas back.  Make 50 swaps, get 50 back.  Some people make 300...but I do not want that many card fronts in return!  Instead of a card front, I made a 3D item this year.

These cute little handbags were surprisingly quick to make.

After I had made them, I decided to add the tag on the side.  I am glad I did as I think it finishes it off nicely.

Inside is a little Dove chocolate.

I {Heart} Hearts

I have had this set for awhile and it is the obvious one to pull out for Valentine's Day.  The set contains 10 hearts of different shapes and sizes, just aching to be stamped.

I used Riding Hood Red for this card, having favoured Cherry Cobbler over Christmas.  There are so many tiny details you can add to a handmade card.  See the tiny 'love' tag attached to the knot?

Stamps:  I {Heart} Hearts, Tiny Tags
Card:  Riding Hood Red A4, Whisper White A4
Inks:  Riding Hood Red
Tools: Jewellery Tag Punch
Accessories:  Riding Hood Red 3.2 cm Striped Grosgrain Ribbon (retired), Vintage Trinkets

More for Em

I also used the Top Note die to make a topper for this gift:  Chocolate Crayons!  The tiny tag is from Tiny Tags of course - there's a punch to match!  Again, I used Soft Suede card and Marina Mist ribbon.
