Baby Wipes Technique Part 2 - French Foliage

Here is another card we made in our baby wipe class.

Using every stamp from the French Foliage stamp set we created this:

  • Fold a babywipe into quarters and drip a variety of ink colours onto the wipe.
  • Press your stamp into the ink, just as you would into a stamp pad.
  • Stamp onto glossy card stock for the best effect.
  • Keep rotating your blocks as you stamp so that the leaves have a falling effect.
  • The background behind the single leaf is created by stamping the block into the ink then pressing it onto the cardstock.
  • The colours we used were Soft Suede, More Mustard and Always Artichoke but in the evening class we added Cajun Craze to our babywipe as well.

Stamps:  French Foliage
Card:  More Mustard, Glossy White
Ink:   Soft Suede, More Mustard, Always Artichoke, Cajun Craze
Tools: 3/4 " Circle Punch

A little more sentimentality

After five days of panic I have now found a round-a-bout way to load photos on my blog again.  Phew!  Sorry for the delay.

Here are a couple more cards designed in the same style as my last post, using the other two images from Feeling Sentimental.  These are based on a design by Teneale Williams.

Add some texture to the bottom panels by running it through the the Houndstooth Embossing Folder (thanks Teneale).

Those water splotches are from French Foliage and add an aged feel to the card, to match the sentimental images.

I achieved the distressed look by running my fingernail along the edge of the card stock.  Keep playing with it and rolling the edges and corners between thumb and forfinger.  Use a sponge to add Crumb Cake ink to the edges.

The phone booth panels on the left are stamped on scrap then stamped out with the 1" square punch and cut in half.  Their rectangular shape reflect the panels in the phone booth.

Feeling Sentimental is just one of the fantastic products you can get FREE during Sale-a-Bration.
With every $100 ordered, you can choose one of 19 products for FREE!  Starts January 22nd.

Mini Lunch Sack Tops

I set to work to come up with an idea of how to use the Mini Lunch Sack Tops that I had left over.  This is what I came up with.

This is a little tag/gift card wallet, using the French Foliage set again.  The Autumn Spice DSP adds a nice detail on the front, along with an Antique Brad.

Inside you can see the Mini Lunch Sack tops - four in all which I have layered and snailed together to form pockets.  I sponged them a little with Soft Suede ink.  The scalloped tops co-ordinate perfectly with our Scallop Edge punch which I have used on the DSP down the bottom.
Inside the four pockets are four different types of note cards/tags.  In the end, the wallet ended up being quite fat with all the goodies inside.

Mini Lunch Sacks

How cute would it be to take your lunch to school in one of these?   Just like the Brady Bunch!  Not big enough for my son's appetite, however.  Our Mini Lunch Sacks are a new item in the Autumn-Winter Mini and I have enjoyed having a play with them.  These are a couple of thankyous for people who helped look after my boy while I was at Convention.  The design of the sack is a CASE of a demonstration we saw at Convention.  Again, I have used French Foliage.  I love this set and the colours that co-ordinated with the Autumn Spice DSP.

Stay tuned for more Mini-Lunch Sack ideas.

Stamp Sets: French Foliage
Card: Autumn Spice DSP, More Mustard
Ink: Cajun Craze, More Mustard, Soft Suede, Old Olive, Whisper White Craft Ink

Hostess Gift

At a recent class we made a variety of boxes using the Big Shot Fancy Favor die.  In amongst all the "card guts" left over was the bottom half of one of the boxes which I put together to form a small rectangular box.  I used some Tombow to glue some Old Olive ribbon around it and made a variety of tags to fit inside.  The end result was a cute and handy little hostess gift that I gave to Judy who hosted a demonstration yesterday.
And here are the tags and cards for inside.

Stamp Sets:  French Foliage ( a beeoootiful set!)
Card:  Autumn Spice DSP, Cajun Craze, More Mustard, Soft Suede, Old Olive
Ink:  Cajun Craze, More Mustard, Soft Suede, Old Olive
Tools:  Big Shot, Fancy Favor Bigz xl Die, Extra Large Tag Punch, Large Tag Punch
Accessories:  Old Olive 1.6cm Grosgrain Ribbon, Vintage Trinkets,, Tombow Glue
