Stampin Blends Club Part 3

Thursday 4th April Class 

Techniques on Vellum 

This was our 3rd class using Stampin' Up's ® Stampin' Blends and colouring on Vellum.

The first card above, used the All That You Are stamp set, with White embossing powder, to create the raised outline of the flowers. We used Poppy Parade cardstock and Stampin Blend in the same colour for one of the flowers, with Daffodil Delight for the other as an alternative.

The trick to this card, is to colour on the reverse side of the vellum. 

Did you know that you can colour your ribbons and accessories using the Stampin' Blends?  The ribbon on both these cards was originally white but we used the brush tip end of our Blends to change the colour.

The second card, is the flower from the Beautiful Day stamp set with the outline stamped using Daffodil Delight ink, coloured with the Stampin Blends.

Both the Memento ink and the Classic range of colured inks are waterbased and therefore work with the alcohol markers.  Think 'opposites attract'!  

The background is the Crackle Paint stamp from the current Occasions Catalogue, and the base is Old Olive. The Blends were used to colour the pearls too, to add an extra dimension to the card.  

We still have one more Blends classes in my series of 4 to learn about the many techniques for these beautiful Stampin' Blends. I am looking forward to seeing what new colours are added when th4e Annual Catalogue comes out.

Stampin' Blends Club Part 2

Thursday 7th March Class 

Stampin' Blends 

 This was our second class of Blends Club and we explored light sources and giving objects shape through shading.

For the first card we used the Varied Vases Stamp Set, colouring the vases with the Light and Dark Old Olive. The flowers were coloured in with Highland Heather Light and Dark, and Pool Party.

  

It's important to use Memento Ink for stamped images when using the Blends.  We saturated each of the images with the lighter colour blend then applied the darker colour the daker areas then blended with the light colour.

  

For the second card, we used the Tea Together Stamp Set from the 2019 Occasions Catalogue, and coloured the teapot and tea cup in Light and Dark Pool Party. The flowers were coloured in Highland Heather and Old Olive was used for the leaves. The backing used the Sale-a-bration embossing folder  - Country Floral Dynamic Textured Impressions.

We still have two more Blends classes in my series of 4 to learn about the many techniques for these beautiful Stampin' Blends. They are so versatile and completely change the characteristics of many of the stamp sets.

Birthday Blitz

Tuesday Jan 24th Classes - Birthday Blitz

We kicked off our card classes for the year on Tuesday, and made a lovely selection of 12 Stampin' Up ® cards that would suit any birthday. The designs also allow for any greeting to be swapped in to make them even more versatile.  The aim was to get a stash of cards ready for emergency birthdays!

There were four masculine birthday cards: we went for some brighter colours based on some retired DSP that was free during Sale-a-Bration last year.

You can use the colours in any combinations, and we used Basic Gray, Calypso Coral, Lemon Lime Twist and Bermuda Bay, to coordinate with the DSP and keep the masculine theme.  The layout was pretty simple and some ladies changed up the designs with angles and landscape mode.

We made  four cards for children, using the "Animal Outing" stamps and Animal Expedition DSP

We used Stampin' Blends to colour the images.  These alcohol markers are a dream to colour with and the rich vibrant colours just popped the images against the cute DSP.  The card colours included Berry Burst, Pool Party, Pear Pizzazz and Shaded Spruce, which coordinate with the DSP.  There are a LOT of colours that coordinate with this one.

The DSP matches the stamps perfectly.  The Animal Friends Framelits that not only cut out the stamped images, but they also match many of the pictures on the DSP perfectly; a quick easy way to add images to your cards.

For the cards above we used the Stitched Shapes Framelits for the two white circles and the square.  Have you spotted the new the new Rectangle Stitched Framelits in the new 2019 Occasions Catalogue ?  There are 13 shapes in the set for $61 and one of the smaller rectangles was the perfect proportions for the giraffe.

The third set was for female birthdays, using the delicate "Wishing You Well" stamp set.

For these cards we used the In Colors - Blueberry Bushel, Lovely Lipstick, Grapefruit Grove and Call Me Clover (not pictured here!). We added a strip of the coordinating  In Color DSP.  This coordinates well with the cardstock, and gives another pop of colour to match the buds and bow on the card. Perfect coordination!

These 6 x 6" packs of DSP comes in each of the colour families.

Lucky Door Prizes

If you are new to my blog...I'll tell ya...I love packaging things.

The new DSPs in the Occasions Catalogue are gorgeous and scream to be made into cute things!!

These were my Lucky Door Prizes for my launch.

I have a number of rounds of LDPs and giveaway product.  I was caught out this year when my box didn't arrive in time so my ladies didn't get products from the new catalogue, but new product nevertheless!  I could, however, dress it up using new release DSP!

My favourite DSP in the catalogue is the How Sweet It Is paper - it's so bright and cheerful!  I created made to measure boxes to hold Metallic Thread.

The other bright and cheerful DSP that I love is Happiness Blooms!  It's kinda Florence Broadhurst ish!  These prizes were Dimensionals - who doesn't need THOSE??

And then I used more of the How Sweet It Is DSP and the coordinating Sweetest Thing stamp set for these prizes - our classic Linen Thread.
