Easter Treats

Hi Everyone

I am having a great time with the Basket Bunch stamp set and matching dies.  SU! is doing a great job of making Occasions sets that stretch beyond the specific occasion.  Basket Bunch is an Easter set but has beautiful flower components and the cutest bunny that can be used for other occasions.

Here is our recent class projects.

The ladies had a choice between these two cards:  a basket of flowers or the Easter bunny!  This design was CASEd from Mary Fish one of my favourite stampers.

Our other card was a clean and simple card which could be adapted for Easter or other occasions.  I love that little die cut basket.  This was  CASE also from a European demonstrator.

Our treat holder used Hey Chick, one of the FREE SAB items available till tomorrow!

And lastly, I saw this little box created by Paula Dobson and knew it would be a winner!

Lots of copying from the generous Stampin' Up! community for this class!

Thanks for stopping by!

Remember that today and tomorrow are the last two days of Sale-a-Bration!

Special Delivery and an Easter project

Last Wednesday I drove to John Flynn Hospital to deliver our card making kits.  These were assembled using the money we raised at the Christmas Charity Workshop last year.  Seven ladies helped to assemble them which I wrote about in this post HERE.

Liz is the volunteer co-ordinator at John Flynn and she is very enthusiastic to receive our help.  Here is the lovely Liz with two of the kits.  Thanks Liz!!

Late last year we  provided John Flynn with a Footprint Cards Kit.  Liz presented us with a letter of thanks from the hospital.

Dear Ms Wheaton

I am writing to express my appreciation of your donation to our Maternity Unit at John Flynn Private Hospital.  Your donation of foot and handprint cards for our deceased and premature babies is appreciated.  Thank you to the kind volunteers who assist you in putting these beautiful kits together for our families.

Our volunteer coordinator has expressed her appreciation in your enthusiasm to assist with volunteer projects to commence in 2016 namely card scrapbooking sessions for our rehabilitation patients.  On behalf of John Flynn Private Hospital, thank you for your generosity.

Diann Sapwell
Director of Clinical Services

Thanks to all the ladies who have helped to assemble Footprint cards and Card Making Kits.  It's a team of willing people who make this possible!  More sessions to come.

How are your Easter projects going?  One of my favourite demonstrators is Becky Roberts of Inking Idaho.  I love her projects and often they take my breath away.  I love this tag design with a cute little bunny and I have made it up into kits for my stamp club girls this month.  A bunny tag on a bunny tag kit.

Don't forget that Sale-a-Bration finishes at the end of the month.  What does this MEAN???

  • Last chance to get a freebee with each $90 spend
  • Last chance to join up for $169 and get $295 of product (I have lots of ladies taking up this offer!)
  • Last chance to get extra freebees when you host a party
Contact me if you would like more information!

Thanks for stopping by!

Vellum Revisited

In class this week we completed an Easter project then switched out attention to some vellum techniques.

Our Easter project was this cute bunny bottom.  I wanted to make something using the honeycomb embellishments - I thought they would make the cutest tails...and they did!  I got the idea for this little cutie from frenchiestamps.com

Our next project was also a CASE - when I saw this design it took my breath away. It was designed by Mary Brown at stampercamper.com  The combination of vellum, black and silver was perfect.  I tweeked the design a little and added the silver ribbon.

This was made using the Botanical Builder framelits dies.  Soo popular.  These are in the Occasions Catalogue.

Don't forget that if you love our products you can't go past the Starter Kit offer during Sale-a-Bration.
You get $126 of FREE product AND FREE postage!!

It costs $169 to join and during Sale-a-Bration you get $295 worth of product!  That's $126 of goodies FREE!

Does joining sound scary?  I assure you it's not.  Here's some FAQs.

Q:  What do I get in my Starter Kit?
A:  Anything you want - make up a list of products you would like up to $295 from the Annual and Occasions Catalogues.  You pay $169.  A great way to get a HUGE discount!

Q:  What happens after that?
A:  A brown box of fun stuff will arrive at your door about a week later.  And then you start playing.

Q:  Do I have to sell a lot of products?
A:  Many people sign up as Hobby Demonstrators - i.e. for the discount.  That's why I signed up originally.  You can purchase for yourself  and sell to friends and family.  As little or as much as you like.  If you want to try to sell more widely that's up to you.  You can try running classes or parties if you want.

Q:  What happens if I don't sell anything?
A:  Nothing:  there are no penalties for dropping.  You will have till the end of June to enjoy a discount.  If you buy/sell enough, you will then be an active demonstrator for the next quarter.  If you don't purchase or sell anything more, that's fine.

Q:  Why join?
A:  Cardmaking and scrapbooking is one of the best hobbies in the world!  By signing up to Stampin' Up! you become part of generous family of like minded people.  For me, it's my job and I have made so many friends and had so many wonderful experiences! I would love you to join my team!

Bursting to sign up?  Give me a call or email OR go straight to the site using this link to join under me.

Happy Easter

Happy Easter everyone!

We made an Easter basket at my recent Easter class and I adapted this one a little to give to my sister and her hubby.

I searched Pinterest for an appropriate Easter sentiment.
  • The original was rectangular but I just trimmed it as a banner at the bottom.
  • My punched out flower covers a printed daisy.  I wanted a more 3D effect.
  • Our original design included the butterfly which I thought was entirely appropriate to symbolize the rising of Jesus.
And of course inside the basket we have symbolic (and yummy!) eggs.

I hope you have a happy and safe Easter!

I am busy organizing my April classes.  Once the school holidays are out of the way, we will be making Pop Up and Shaker cards.  To check the class schedule click HERE.  You can even RSVP online.

Thanks for stopping by!

Strawberry Baskets Forever

Here's another of the projects from our Easter class.  I found this idea on Pinterest, ripe (ha ha) for the CASEing.  The original was created by Debbie Henderson.

The strawberries were made using the Hearts a Flutter framelits and then run through the Perfect Polka Dot Embossing Folder.

The basket is just one end of the basket die... so 2D rather than 3D.

And at Easter I like to make a lucky door prize for everyone!  The U.S. demonstrators call these Sour Cream Containers but I can't remember sour cream ever coming in containers like this - I remember them as Sunny Boy containers!

These are made using a full sheet of the Designer Series Paper Stacks - no trimming required.  If you saw my Easter Carrots post, you'll see a similar idea with different dimensions.

My next class is Pop Up and Shaker cards!!  Want to come along?  My class schedule is HERE and you can book online!  I have a fantastic group of ladies who are so friendly and helpful and my classes are daytime and night time!

Easter carrots

Today was our Easter Treats class.  Our quickest project was to make carrots....yup carrots.

I saw these on Pink Buckaroo's website and loved them.  So quick and eastery...easy.

They are basically just tubes of (orange) DSP, sealed flat at one end.  Once you fill them you seal them flat at the other end, but at right angles to the other end.  Clear as mud?  The carroty tops are made using our filter paper.  I brayered them green.

Don't forget the Weekly Deals for this week. The Envelope Punch Board is on special, along with some card stock packs.

Easter Box

If you have some Tag a Bag boxes stashed away and you are looking for a last minute Easter idea...how about this?

This is another of the items we made in our Easter Treat class.

  • The Tag a Bag Gift Boxes are super handy to have stashed away.
  • The acetate sleeve has been run through the Big Shot using the Decorative Dots Embossing Folder which was a freebee during Sale-a-Bration.  If you missed out this will be available in the 2104 - 2015 Annual Catalogue!
  • Add a tag using the Angles Tag Topper Punch - you can make any length of tag by inserting a 2" wide piece of card stock in and punching.  Even the hole is done for you.
  • Embellish with a cute as can be peg.  These little pegs can be found in the Tag  Bag Accessory Kit.
  • Finish off with some punched flowers:  The Petite Petals punch is one of the new punches in the Occasions mini, along with a co-ordinating stamp set.
I hope that has given you some inspiration for some gift giving.

Thanks for stopping by!
