Baby Cards

I was asked to make some baby cards in a hurry recently.

I have sung the praises of the Owl Builder Punch on many occasions, but did you know you can use it for baby clothes??

This little jump suit is made using the vest from the owl punch.  Just snip a 'v' in the bottom to create the pants legs.

Stamps:  Itty Bitty Banners
Card:  Pear Pizzazz, Soft Sky, Whisper White
Ink:  Pear Pizzazz
Tools:  Big Shot, Circle Framelits, Clouds (non SU!), Owl Builder Punch
Accessories:  Linen Thread

Did you know I run card making classes at my home?  If you live on the Gold Coast, you might like to come along.  I run regular classes each month and can add you to my mailing list!  Call me on 07 55 765 469 or email wheatonanna@hotmail.com

Notecards and Soho Subway

Itty Bitty Banners on Itty Bitty Notecards...

These little notecards (7.5 x 7.5 cm) are great fun to make and fit perfectly into our Square Envelopes (#107309).

I've played with a few shapes, layering them for eye catching impact.  The background DSP is Soho Subway.

Stamps:  Itty Bitty Banners
Card:  Crumb Cake, Summer Starfruit, Early Espresso, Island Indigo, Whisper White, Soho Subway DSP
Ink:  Early Espresso
Tools:  1" Circle Punch, Artisan Label Punch, Apothecary Accents Framelits

Party Owl

I have been needing to restock my card boxes with some girl cards...

Bright colours and the Owl Builder Punch suited to a T.

  • I love the Clockworks stamp set which I have used more often for its abstract images than for its clock images.  Here I have combined Melon Mambo, Daffodil Delight and Regal Rose.
  • The owl's party hat is cropped using the Petite Pennants Builder Punch, chopped off at the half way point.
  • A festive pom pom is made using one of the flowers from the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack.  I used Paper Snips to clip between each petal to allow for some 'fluff.'

Stamps:  Clockworks, Itty Bitty Banners
Card:  Daffodil Delight, Melon Mambo, Whisper White, Brights Designer Series Paper Patterns Stack
Ink:  Daffodil Delight, Melon Mambo, Regal Rose, Black StazOn
Tools:  Owl Builder Punch, Petite Pennants Builder Punch, Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack
Accessories:  Basic Rhinestones

Make a Monster

In my last post I mentioned I would show you another card with the same layout.

This one is more suited to a boy!

  • My monster was dressed up using paper piecing, where the image is stamped on DSP and cut out.
  • His one eye given dimension using a googly eye from a cheap shop.  Mini Glue dots fix these in place.
  • The design is tied together using mini brads for the sentiment and stars.

Stamps:  Make a Monster, Itty Bitty Banners
Card:  Crumb Cake, Pumpkin Pie, Garden Green, Whisper White
Ink:  Black Stazon
Tools:  Large Star Punch (retired)
Accessories:  Mini Brads

Paper Doilies

Paper Doilies are back!! Here's some more sneak peeking from the upcoming Seasonal Catalogue which starts February 1st.  I saw this design on Pinterest in lighter colours but wanted to try white and Midnight Muse.

Remember the Designer Series Paper Stack of Christmassy prints?  'Print Poetry' is in the new Seasonal Catalogue and it is full of beautiful masculine and feminine prints in that same handy size. (11.4 x 16.5 cm).  The Paper Doilies look stunning against the rich colour.

The Midnight Muse print is one of my favourites from the stack.  When I made the card, I did not realise that I had several doilies stuck together but loved the effect in the end.

I mounted the DSP on the Whisper White to give it more strength when I popped it up on Dimensionals.

Layers of Paper Doilies can be curled up to give the card further dimension.

Bakers Twine and a Rhinestone finish the card off.

Stamps:  Itty Bitty Banners
Card:  Whisper White, Print Poetry DSP Stack
Ink:  Midnight Muse
Accessories:  Paper Doilies, Basic Rhinestones, Whisper White Bakers Twine

Thanks for stopping by!  Check back tomorrow for another sample from the Print Poetry DSP stack.
