Another card - two ways

This is another of the special occasion cards we made recently.  A wedding card.  My three thoughts about a wedding card were that it should be rich/regal, have sophistication and be weighty.  You know when you get a wedding invitation in the mail? - it feels heavier than any other mail.

This is the wedding card...

And this is the alternative which has a "For the Newlyweds" sentiment but this could easily be switched out for a Happy Birthday or Happy Anniversary.

I found this design on Pinterest.

Stamps:  Teeny Tiny Sentiments
Card:  Whisper White, Cherry Cobbler
Ink:  Cherry Cobbler
Tools: Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border Punch, Scallop Oval Punch, Large Oval Punch, Big Shot, Vintage Wallpaper Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, Perfect Polka Dots Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, Scalloped Heart of Hearts Embosslits die, Full Heart Punch

Special Occasions - One card two ways

In a recent class we made some special occasion cards and I wanted to some designs that were vesatile for more than one occasion - not everyone has a wedding round the corner, for example.  Here's what I came up with.  For each card, I thought of three qualities to sum up that style of card.  For a sympathy card, I thought it should be simple and understated, with a return to nature.

Our sympathy card, using the Thoughts and Prayers stamp set was simple and elegant.

I saw a variation on this card using the stamp in a completely different way and I tweeked the design so that we could make this card below.  The original was by LeeAnn Greff.

.
Stamp:  Thoughts and Prayers
Card:  Bashful Blue, Rose red, Daffodil Delight, Baja Breeze
Ink:  Pear Pizzazz, Basic Black, Bashful Blue
Tools:  Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border Punch, Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack
Accessories:  Basic Pearls, Basic Rhinestones

Birthday Wishes II

Here are a few more hand made cards...

This one is made by one of my customers and friends, Jessica.  This is the gorgeous Apothecary Art stamp set teamed with the Twitterpated DSP.  Soooo pretty.

And one from a young stamper, Emma

This is a card I made long before I joined Stampin' Up!  It's not even an SU! stamp.  It was a Mother's Day card which I have put into my boxes to sell every year and it always comes back unsold.  So this year, I tossed it in the bin.  One of Zac's chores is to empty the bins and he has found the card and upcycled it to give to me.  See the sentiment?

Happy Mother's Day has been covered over.  I always say in my classes that you can cover a mistake or cut it off!

And inside...

What a joy my boy is!

Birthday wishes

I recently celebrated a birthday and was delighted to receive a bunch of cards including some beautiful homemade ones.  I thought you might like to see them.

This one is from my sister and her family, although I don't think the rest of the family had a role in making the card!  Love this colour combination!  And this stamp set!

This one is from my lovely friend and stamping buddy Mary-Ann.  Every term, we fiind a day to stamp together and produce masses of cards..."till our fingers bleed!"  This DSP was one of my favourites but retired quite awhile ago now.

This one is from a family friend, Emily who loves her cardmaking.  I have done a few blogs of presents I have made for Emily in the past.

I have a regular customer who comes to my classes and we are now good friends.  I love the friendships I have formed through Stampin' Up!  This is Angela's card which is such a clever design. What a beautiful combination of stamps, punches and a brad.   I may case it!

Giant Lego

I made this little set of boxes for a little boy and in each one was a pack of a Lego Mini Figure.  I used the Box no 2 die through the Big Shot.  The 'plugs' are punched out then sponged around the edge to give them depth, then they are popped up using dimensionals.

It was a very quick project to make and a cute way of presenting the gift.

Card:  Pacific Point, Real Red, Daffodil Delight
Ink:  Pacific Point, Real Red, Pumpkin Pie (used on the Daffodil Delight)
Tools:  Big Shot (have you got one of these yet?), Box # 2 die, 1.9 cm Circle Punch, Stampin Sponges, Dimensionals
Accessories:  Real Red 6.4 mm Grosgrain Ribbon

Just a cute pic

I saw this on an ad on the side of a bus stop and thought it was a cute pic to share.  Nothing to do with a card but smile worthy!
