Launch success

We had a fabulous launch on Saturday with a lovely group of customers!  I remembered to take my camera and I remembered to take photos but I did not remember my SD card which was home inside my computer.  So here are a few shots taken on my phone.

One of the boxes of bags for the customers:  these contained a catalogue, their stamp, a name tag and an ingredients list.

The cafĂ© space.  Genesis Christian Ministries  were kind enough to let us use their space.  They are always so welcoming and encouraging of our events.

The food.  Nadene did her mum proud by having a fantastic range of food ready for us.  Crafting can make you very hungry!!  Thanks Nadene!

We had displays of new goodies and ideas.

And a raffle which I did not take a photo of:  Stampin' Up! is so generous in donating boxes of retired goods for fundraising efforts.

All up we
  • entertained a lovely group of ladies for 3 hours
  • raised $156 for the Gold Coast Children's Hospital
  • made 28 cards for our Australian soldiers
Did you know that over the past four years we have raised
  • $779 for the Gold Coast Children's Hospital
  • $297 for the Salvation Army Flood Appeal
  • $949 for the Cancer Council
  • $967 for the Mater Mothers' Bereavement Programme
That's a total of almost $3000!!

And we have made over 500 cards for Australian soldiers.

I wouldn't have thought we had raised that much money over the years.  A fantastic effort by everyone who supports our events.  Thank so much!!

Work of Art Thank You - another make and take

Blackberry Bliss is my new favourite colour...but I think I may have already told you that.

We combined the Water Color Thank You stamp with the Work of Art stamp set and Blackberry Bliss to make this card.

  • the card base and co-ordinating envelope are Stampin' Up!s Note Cards and Envelopes.  These are great for quick cards and work out at just over 50c each.
  • We used the striped 'swish' from "Work of Art" to stamp stripes on the Blackberry Bliss background
  • On the tag, we used the 'stamp off'' technique to achieve stripes that get lighter.  To stamp off, we simply stamped again without reinking so that the image becomes lighter each time.
  • The Angled Tag Topper Punch adds some interest to the card - just put a 2" strip of card in the punch and it will cut the angle and the hole.  Easy!

Launch Make and Takes

By the time you read we will have finished our 2014 launch of the Stampin' Up! catalogue!  I'll tell you more about the day in a future post.  I got this post ready ahead of time.

This is one of the make and takes the ladies completed.

This is a pouch we made, using the Tag a Bags.  I had prepared the bags before hand by folding them in half then folding the front part in half again, then sewing up the sides.  The ladies then added the doily, the Baked Brown Sugar Bakers Twine and the All Abloom paper pieces.  This one was super quick and easy to make.   It could be used for a card....or it could be used for tags!

We made four co-ordinating tags to go inside the pouch.  All the ladies had this Watercolor Thank You included in their launch price, so projects were based around this stamp.  We used the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch to shape the tag tops.

Tucked in behind the tags is a little cello bag with four strings.

Thanks to Sara Sagert for the idea for this cute little pouch!

Thanks for stopping by!

Nuts About Nuts About You

One of the sets to catch my eye from the start is Nuts About You.

It's a hostess set which means it can't be bought unless you have hostess $$.  Plus, it's cheaper than regular sets because it's priced specially for hostesses.  What's not to like about that?

My favourite image is this little guy who hangs upside down from the branch.  Cute isn't he?

And the set contains other furry and feathered creatures too - all of them cute.

If you love this set, why not contact me to host a party?  Your friends will love stamping and may discover a new hobby!
