Clear Cards

In my most recent class we created clear cards using acetate.  A very different effect is achieved by introducing this element.   I found inspiration for these cards from all over the web, including Teneale's blog, Tania Gould's blog and Cards a la Carte.

Blushing Bliss

This is another card using Bliss, a FREE SAB set.  Only 8 days to go.
This card is another CASE of the fabulous cards Teneale Williams creates.  Her cards are far more details and lush, but I like to dream sometimes.

Sweet Niece

I have made a box to match the card I blogged the other day.  This is for my niece's birthday.  We are giving her a necklace and a charm so I made a box to fit round them.

The colour combination is Pumpkin Pie, Wild Wasabi and Daffodil Delight.
See the matching envelope?  This is very easy to make by adhering a piece of DSP into the envelope flap then trimming it to fit.

Punch Bunch Meets Scallop Circle

Throughout this week and probably into next (!!) I am featuring cards made using the SAB sets.  Don't forget that you only have until the end of this month to earn FREE stamp sets with every $100 order placed!  Email me at wheatonanna@hotmail.com if you wish to place an order!

Today's card is very similar to the one in the SAB catalogue.  It's a great example to show that Punch Bunch can be used without the punches.

I used the branch from the Two-Step Bird Punch - it goes perfectly with the owl!

My Sweet Summer

I played a little more with Sweet Summer and flipped the vine around to hang the flowers.  Agaiin, bright colours were the go and the Aqua Painter gave the black line image the lift it needed.

Stamps:  Sweet Summer, Happy Moments
Card:  Whisper White, Daffodil Delight, Wild Wasabi, Pumpkin Pie, Brights Designer Series Paper Patterns Stack
Ink:  Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight, Wild Wasabi, Basic Black
Tools:  Aqua Painter, Scallop Edge Border Punch

Sweet Summer

Bliss has been the favourite free stamp set as far as my customers are concerned but as some of you are placing a second order during SAB, Sweet Summer is emerging as the dark horse.  Its simple line images are a joy to colour and I have been experimenting with my Aqua Painter and i stamped the image on Watercolor Paper.
Our demonstrator forum, Stampin Connection is a place to share photos of your card designs and Kerry Bunting, a very talented demonstrator, featured a card similar to this.  Her use of Daffodil Delight against Cherry Cobbler was stunning so I gave it a go myself.

Even when I had the card stock laid out on my work bench, the combination kept catching my eye.

Stamps:  Sweet Summer
Card:  Daffodil Delight, Cherry Cobbler, Brights Designer Series Paper Patterns Stack, Watercolor Paper
Ink:  Cherry Cobbler, Daffodil Delight, Concord Crush, Bashful Blue, Old Olive
Tools:  Aqua Painter (great fun!)

Bright Punch Bunch

I return to this card design again and again.... A card base, a strip of Co-ordinating DSP, a strip of co-ordinating colour and a sentiment punched out with one of our fabulous punches.  These are so easy to produce yet look striking.  The use of cardstock from the Brights colour family, along with somoe matching DSP, immediately says "kids' cards."
Stamps:  Punch Bunch
Card:  Real Red A4, Pacific Point A4 and Celebrations DSP
Ink:  Pacific Point and Real Red
Tools:  Scallop Square Punch

More Bliss

Another Bliss design for you.  There have been many variations of this design in blogland.  The Bliss flourish is calling to have the butterfly or flower of the set placed in the middle.  They go so well together.
This card uses Daffodil Delight cardstock with Pumpkin Pie and Blushing Bride ink.

Punch Bunch

As promised, some more samples or cards using the Sale-a-Bration sets.  The clean cut lines of the Punch Bunch set can be stamped then punched with their corresponding shape, or just stamped.

This card uses the Welcome Baby stamp which I have inked up with the Stampin' Write markers.  Blushing Bride, one of my favourite colours is the main colour focus against crisp white.  I saw this design on Heather Klump's blog, using greens but wanted to change it to suit a baby girl.
Stamps:  Punch Bunch
Card:  Whisper White, Blushing Bride, In Color DSP Patterns Stack
Ink:  Basic Black, Blushing Bride, So Saffron Stampin' Write Markers
Tools:  Scallop Trim Border Punch, Corner Rounder Punch
Accessories:  Blushing Bride Stitched-Poly Ribbon

Bliss Clipboard

This project was inspired by Crafters' Anonymous which runs fortnightly challenges.  This fornight's challenge was to create or decorate a clipboard.  I made my clipboard base out of sturdy cardboard and covered it with DSP.  The notebook is from Officeworks, so to make it was cheap as chips!  I enjoyed my first challenge, even though I left it to the last minute!  Why not try one of the challenges yourself or just click on over to Crafters' Anonymous and look at the other 'clipboard' interpretations.

Bliss and Blushing Bride go beautifully together!  I was inspired by a card on Teneale Williams site.

This is what happens when you don't have opposable thumbs

No cards today because here is Zac's guinea pig, Stripe.  We want to know what is so great about that section of the carrot!?

Significant Factors

My husband, a Chemistry teacher has been encouraging his Year 11 students to memorise Significant Factors Figures! (nope, me neither).  He asked me to make some sort of badge to give them when they had achieved this...so with the help of the Big Shot, this is what I came up with...
Apparently the badge has been a success as they all want to get one and have hurried up with their memorising.

Thoughts and Prayers

I borrowed this set from my sister to make some sympathy cards.
I inked the stamp in Pear Pizzazz then used a cotton bud to clean the ink off the flowers.  Using a Peach Parfait marker, I then coloured the flowers before stamping.  A simple technique.
Again, Teeny Tiny Sentiments comes to the rescue with exactly the right words.

Stamps:  Thoughts and Prayers, teeny Tiny Sentiments
Card:  Pear Pizzazz, Peach parfait, Whisper White
Ink:  Pear Pizzazz, Peach Parfait
Tools:  1/16" hole punch
Accessories:  Coloured brad

Blast Off

Pun Fun is one of my favourite sets.  It is so versatile.   I have used paper piecing on the rocket, stamping it on Celebrations DSP.  Do you like the rocket's jet trail?  This is from a Christmas set!  Season of Joy on page 20 has this cute little swirl which I coloured in three different inks to show the blasting off.

Works quite well, I think.
And...I am enjoying doing something on the inside of my cards lately too.
Stamps:  Pun Fun, Season of Joy, Teeny Tiny Sentiments
Card:  Pacific Point, Real Red, Whisper White, Celebrations DSP
Ink:  Daffodil Delight, Tangerine Tango, Real Red

Sweet Summer Sympathy

I have CASEd this card from Stampin' Connection our demonstrator forum.  Paula Dobson designed this card and used Early Espresso colours.  I chose Night of Navy.  I was trying to work out which stamp she used then realised it was one of the images from Sweet Summer, one of our Sale-a-Bration sets, which she had coloured in using her Stampin' Write markers.

I am enjoying using sponging on many of my cards lately.  Do you like the way the design is reflected inside the card?

Don't forget that Sale-a-Bration finishes at the end of March.

Stamps:  Sweet Summer, Teeny Tiny Sentiments
Card:  Whisper White, Night of Navy
Ink:  Night of Navy
Tools:  Scorer, Sponges
