50

A friend of our is turning 50 so I was in charge of making the card.

I used Mocha Morning Specialty DSP, now retired and that wonderful postage stamp punch with the 1" square punch.

Our new Apothecary Accents Framelit provided the perfect masculine background for the '50.'  A matching envelope was created by adding DSP to the flap of the envelope.  Sadly I didn't have a Very Vanilla Envelope, just a white one.  I don't think the recipient will notice though.

Stamps:  none
Card:  Early Espresso, Soft Suede, Very Vanilla, Mocha Morning Specialty DSP (retired)
Ink: none
Tools:  Big Shot, Apothecary Accents Framelits, Postage Stamp Punch, 1" Square Punch, Timeless Type Junior Alphabet Dies (retired)
Accessories:  Gold Brads

Charity update....and a card

I am pleased to be able to let you know that I have mailed off 320 cards today for Australian Armed Forces!  The cards were bagged in groups of 10.  Here are the boxes ready to go.  Thankyou to my hubby who donated the postage costs.

And I have also received a letter from Gold Coast Children's Hospital thanking us for our donation of $160 which we raised through the raffle at our catalogue launch.

Thanks so much to everyone who donated their time and money to both of these worthy causes!

And...a card

This is a simple card adapted from a design on page 53 of the catalogue.  It showcases the In Colors.

If you like the In Colors, there is a fantastic deal in the catalogue - the five ink pads plus 20 sheets of matching cardstock for $47.95.  That's a discount on your ink pads (which would add up to $49.75) and, in effect, a free pack of paper!

Email me or phone if you would like to place an order!

Stamps:  Bring on the Cake
Card:  Crumb Cake, Raspberry Ripple, Primrose Petals, Midnight Muse, Summer Starfruit, Gumball Green, Whisper White
Ink:  Raspberry Ripple
Tools:  Labels Collection Framelits

Just Add Ink - Challenge 136

I can't imagine coming up with 136 challenges!  The challenge this week at Just Add Ink is 'Just Add Children.'  I used the Perfectly Preserved set and put a monster in the jar.  The jar is stamped in Early Espresso with the new style ink pad and the image looks like it has been run through a printer - so clean and well defined!  The monster is stamped on DSP and then cut out for some paper piecing.

Do you like the clean and simple look?  And I love using Crumb Cake with this set.

Stamps:  Make a Monster, Perfectly Preserved
Card:  Crumb Cake, Whisper White, Old Olive DSP Paper Stack
Ink:  Early Espresso, Cherry Cobbler
Tools:  Big Shot, Cannery Framelits, Bitty Banner Framelits
Accessories:  Cherry Cobbler Baker's Twine

Launch Success

Don't forget our fabulous fundraiser for the Mater Mother's Footprint programme.
Details HERE.

A week ago, I had 23 ladies at my catalogue launch where we made four make and takes....well five actually if you include tea and coffee.  It was fun playing with the new ink pads and stamps.

Our raffle for the Gold Coast Children's hospital raised $159 dollars.  Thanks to everyone who bought tickets!  And thanks to Stampin' Up! for their donation.

Want to see what me made?

This treat holder is a variation of the one on page 94 of the catalogue.  It combines Cherry Cobbler and Summer Starfruit.  Many of the ladies punched out red leaves which looked beautiful against the Summer Starfruit background.

We also made a 7.5cm x 7.5cm notecard.   I love this Make a Cake set and the two new In Colors:  Raspberry Ripple and Primrose Petals.

Our third offering uses Midnight Muse and Betsy's Blossoms along with the new Illuminate stamp pad.  That's it shimmering on the background layer.  The sentiment is from a new word set called Itty Bitty Banners which has matching Framelits.

And lastly a Christmas offering.  This uses one of the new DSPs in the catalogue called Be of Good Cheer and the fifth new In Color, Gumball Green.  The sentiment is from Word Play.

If you haven't your own copy of the new catalogue, you can click on the links on the left tool bar or contact me for a paper copy.

Paper Angels Fundraising Event

As a Stampin' Up! demonstrator, I am a member of a fantastic group of ladies who are working together for a wonderful cause.

This is a footprint card which we make for the Mater Mothers' Hospital to use for stillborn babies.  The Paper Angels have designed this card and makes them throughout the year.

A baby's footprint is stamped on the card (in this sample we have used a rubber stamp)  and an accompanying name card is also stamped.  These are then given to the parents to take home.  It is a cause that is close to our hearts and once a year we hold a fundraiser for it.

For the first time, we have a venue on the Gold Coast and would love you to come along.

When:  Saturday October 13th, 10 am till 4pm
Where: Genesis Christian Ministries, 148 Eastlake Street, Carrara
How much:  $65 per person

Your $65 includes:
  • Scentsational Season Clear Mount Stamp Set
  • Festival of Prints Designer Series Paper Stack
  • Sanding System and Dust Buddy
  • Precut project kits and instructions for 6 Christmas projects
This event will also be held in 5 other venues - see the brochure below.  Click on the picture to enlarge.

This is a fantastic and fun day which will give you some great ideas for your Christmas cards and gifts.

Please email me at wheatonanna@hotmail.com if you would like to secure a place.

New Catalogue? New ideas!

To view the new Annual catalogue AND the Holiday Catalogue, click on the links to the left.
But have a look at my cards first!

Summer Smooches is one of my favourites of the new DSPs.  It's so fresh.  I've teamed it with some old and new stamp sets.

One of the new stamp sets that we received FREE at Convention was Memorable Moments.  That spotty frame is one of the images.

Love the bright colour combinations.  And flagged ends on strips of DSP are everywhere.   The diagonal background is done on the Simply Scored Scoring Tool.

Stamps:  Memorable Moments, Bring on the Cake
Card:  Summer Smooches DSP, Whisper White, Daffodil Delight, Rich Razzleberry
Ink:  Rich Razzleberry
Tools:   Simply Scored Scoring Tool, Big Shot, Labels Collection Framelits, Polka Dot TEF
