Fundraiser Thankyou

Thanks again to everyone who came to the Catalogue Launch.  I have received a letter of thanks from Vicki at Gold Coast Hospital.

It's lovely to be able to help out such a worthy cause.

White on White

I LOVE the effect of white on white and can even remember using this technique before I joined SU!  I spotted a card on Connie Tumm's blog and loved her use of sponging on the white to add dimension.  I had to use the Fun Flowers Bigz die with my Big Shot, just as she did, but I incorporated more Crumb Cake (the ink, not the food!)

I copied Connie's idea of running the Fun Flowers pieces through the embossing folders to give them more texture.

Byootifull!!

Card:  Whisper White

Spinner Card

A recent hostess asked me to demonstrate a spinner card.  I had never made one before but knew that the monkey from Fox and Friends would be the perfect 'spinner.'
We ended up making a different colour combination to this one, so if I put my leftovers together I'll post the other version.

A great video tutorial can be found HERE.  Angie Juda, an American demonstrator explains it well, although I simplified it a little with no template and less layers.

Stamps:  Bring On The Cake, Fox and Friends
Card:  Chocolate Chip, Pink Pirouette DSP (retired), Whisper White
Ink:  Chocolate Chip
Tools:  Word Window Punch, 4.4 cm Scallop Circle Punch, 3.5 cm Circle Punch
Accessories:  1 cm Whisper White Taffeta Ribbon

Thanks for stopping by!  Feel free to leave a comment!!

Stampin' Up! Stampin' Write Markers

At a recent demonstration a lady who had won some Stampin' Write Markers in our raffle asked me to show their uses.  I demonstrated the card below, applying ink straight to the stamp with the markers.  Love this flourish from Elements of Style.

Our markers have two ends:  a brush tip end and a fine end.  The brush tip is fantastic for applying ink straight to the stamp and on this card, I used the fine end to draw the border around the card.

Each marker can be bought individually, or they are available in sets according to their colour families.

Stamps:  Elements of Style, Thank You Kindly
Card:  Rich Razzleberry, Whisper White
Ink:  Old Olive, Rich Razzlerberry, Pumpkin Pie Stampin' Write Markers

Neutral baby cards

Quite often customers would like baby cards for when they don't know whether bub is a boy or girl (and it's good to have some surprises in life!)  Crumb Cake DSP teamed with Whisper White make a great combination for a crisp result.  I started with the traditional rectangular card - that teddy is so cute.

Then I experimented with a circular card.  The Scallop Circle Bigz Die run through the Big Shot produces this cute round baby card.  This one was a snap to put together!  Be sure to stick the strip of Whisper White layered with Crumb Cake DSP onto the card base before you run it through the BIg Shot.  It will cut through the layers like butter!

Stamps:  Short and Sweet, Family Favourites, Baby Tees Jumbo Wheel
Card:  Crumb Cake, Whisper White, Neutrals Collection Patterns DSP Stack
Ink:  Crumb Cake
Tools:  Big Shot, Scallop Circles Bigz Die, 4.4 cm Scallop Circle Punch, 3.5 cm Circle Punch, 3.2 cm Cirlce Punch, Corner Rounder Punch, Jewelry Tag Punch
Accessories:  Silver Brads, Whisper White 1 cm Taffetta Ribbon

Launch Success

On Saturday I had twenty-three ladies visit my home for the launch of the new catalogue.  It was a great opportunity to have a look at some samples and try out new products.  Everyone who attended now has a lovely new catalogue to look through.  Here are a few snaps of the day.

My bookshelf of samples.

Dressed up soaps.  ( I chose 'el cheapo' soaps - big mistake as they smelt cheap.  But with the lid on the box, the smell was kept in!  Next time, I'll choose 'semi-cheapo'.)

This birthday banner was shown to us at Convention. At the back are some cards made using the Pennant Parade stamp set and matching punch.

The In Colors.

The prizes - Stampin' Up! donated a box of goodies to me earlier in the year for my Cancer Council fundraiser.  I still haven't used everything!  They are such a generous company.  Our raffle raised $180 for the Gold Coast Children's Hospital.

The donations from SU! included rolls of ribbon up to 14 metres long, so I divided them into two metre lengths and boxed them up so that people had three ribbon colours and some buttons.

And the same with some Ice Cream Parlour extras.

And I just have to show you this - when I tied the ribbon on the yellow one, was this not a perfectly placed Knot with the flower right in the centre??

And some of the ladies working hard on some Christmas gift tags!

Thankyou to everyone who came along and made the morning a success.

Anna
