Easter Class Baskets and Box

Hi Everyone

I saw this Easter Box on Monica Gale's blog and knew that we had to do it in a class.  I thought she was such a gorgeous bunny - how could I resist?  I did very little to change her.

Her back and front are made onto the Top Note die and these are stuck onto a Fancy Favours box.  Isn't she a cutey?

We also made these gorgeous baskets.   This one starts with a 15 x 15 cm piece of cardstock but you can make a larger version that is 21 x 21cm or a smaller version 9 x 9 cm.

They are quite easy to make once you have a bit of a fiddle.  Instructions for this basket can be found HERE.

Bunny Recipe:
Card:  Whisper White, Pretty in Pink, Basic Black
Ink:  Soft Suede
Tools:  Extra Large Oval, Large Oval, Small Oval, 2.5 cm Circle, 1.3 cm circle, Itty Bitty Shapes Circle, Heart to Heart Punch, Big SHot,, Tope Note die, Fnacy Favors Box die
Accessories:  White Baker's Twine, Sponges, Pretty in Pink Scallop Dots Ribbon

Basket Recipe:

Easter Class Projects

My ladies have recently done an Easter class of Bunnies and Baskets.  There are some fantastic ideas in blogland every Easter.

First up we made a carrot card (well, why wouldn't you?)

We used the Petal Cone die.  I had seen plenty of petal cone carrot boxes in blogland but wanted to make a card.  I got the idea when I saw an icecream cone card made the same way.

I had a customer ask to order "Elvis Paper" which is the glimmer paper.  So I think that's what I will call it from now on.  Isn't it great for the cherry?  I used Crumb Cake and Pretty in Pink for the colours.

This card design is by Angie Juda and there is a Youtube video HERE.

This card went straight into an envelope for my niece.

Next post I'll show you the baskets and box.

Sneak Peek Swaps

The Autumn-Winter Mini is out next month.  Wanna peek?  It's full of loads of beautiful things and plenty for Big Shot lovers.

There's a new shape in town - a bit fancier than the Top Note, and just as useful.  I am making a bunch of swaps to swap with my upline.

This is the scrummy new Twitterpated DSP - very Laura Ashley!  The flower stamp is from a pretty new stamp set called Bordering on Romance and the wonderful shape they are stamped on is our Framelits Label Die.

The border behind the DSP is a new one too - the Adorning Accents Edgelit Dies.  There are so many things to love in the new catalogue.  One of the privileges of being a demonstrator, is we get to try them out a month early.

Don't forget the fantastic offer during SAB - $40 of the starter kit AND a free stamp set of your choice.

Simply Adorned 2

So I have had a fiddle with the Simply Adorned charms which are very cute.  The Circle Charm fits the 1/2" circle punch (or should that be the other way around?)

I have photographed these at night so they are not the best quality...but you get the idea.

I stamped on Pretty In Pink using one of the flourishes from the Tiny Tags set.  Over the top, using Concord Crush, I stamped a butterfly from Up In the Air, the hostess set in the current Summer Mini.

The other side of the charm....my initial is computer generated - I did not have a stamp sized for such a small space.

And of course, I can change the images whenever I want by just opening the charm and switching the design.

Triple Treat and DSP

Another example of the Triple Treat flower design.  This is one of a la Carte stamps so it is a lovely single stamp to get started with without spending too much money.  Here I have teamed it with strips of Sale-a-Bration (9 days left!) DSP and cardstock which reflect the colours in the ink choices.

The Crumb Cake card base makes the colours stand out.

And another combination..

I saw this card design on another demonstrators blog but can't remember whose it was to give it credit.  Apologies!

Fresh Vintage Alternative

The flourish from the SAB set Fresh Vintage is stunning but the smaller elements have plenty to offer too.

Here are a couple of cards combining Pool Party with Cherry Cobbler.  Yum!  These colours show up well against the crisp Whisper White and trimmed with Whisper White Baker's Twine.

And how about swapping the colours around....

This card is a CASE from Carrie Gaskin's blog.

Simply Adorned

Our Summer Mini, which finishes at the end of the month, features the Simply Adorned line of chains, charms and baubles.  I hadn't seen them 'in the flesh' until a customer bought one recently.  These are gorgeous little charms which combine a love of stamping with a love of jewellery.

The baubles are available in Black, Pink and Clear Crystal and there is a gorgeous Vanilla Pearl.  And see the charms?  This is where the stamping comes in.

The charms hinge open so that you can insert a photo or a stamped image inside, and there is a little piece of sponge to keep everything secure and close to the tempered glass.  Cute huh?

The sad news is that these charms won't be available when the mini finishes.  Stampin' Up! has announced that they will not be a carryover item nor will they reappear in the new Idea Book and Catalogue.

If you are interested in ordering Simply Adorned, email me at wheatonanna@hotmail.com.  SAB freebees continue to apply until the end of March.

Sponged Get Well

I have shown you a few one layer cards using sponging.  This is one I experimented with for a recent class.

I sponged through a wavey frame cut out of card stock and used three colours.  The image is from the Hostess set "Up in the Air" in the current Mini Catalogue which finishes up at the end of the month.  It has the sentiment "So Sweet" but I covered this with sticky tape after inking so that it didn't stamp.  A little bit of corner rounding is a nice touch too.  This is a really easy design to create.

Embossing Folder meets Brayer and Lives Happily Ever After

Our training days are thoroughly entertaining and inspiring and we get to see all sorts of demonstrations of new techniques.

Tina White, a fellow demonstrator, showed us a technique of brayering ink on the inside of the embossing folder then running it through the Big Shot.

This is a sample done in Calypso Coral.

Tina's sample was done in Pool Party, which I also tried.

I love the ruffled ribbon that co-ordinates with these In Colors.

Stamps:  Occasional Greetings
Card:  Whisper White, Pool Party, Calypso Coral
Ink: Pool Party, Calypso Coral

Tools:  Big Shot, Petals-a-Plenty TEF, Blossom Party Originals Die
Accessories:  SAB Everyday Enchantment Brads, Designer Printed Brads, Calypso Coral and Pool Party Ruffled Ribbon

This DSP won't stay forever

I know I have already said that I am loving the SAB  DSP.  I have been experimenting with more cards - when the paper is free, you can do a lot of experimenting, right?  This paper will finish at the end of March so if you'd like some, place your order with me by the 31st.

I used my Stampin' Write Markers to colour the stamp so that I could achieve two colours on the one image.

Love the ribbon and brad?  That's another freebee throughout SAB.

En Francais Butterfies

This card is an all out case of a design on AndreaWalford's blog.  Her card immediately caught my eye and I wanted to reproduce it.

And any card that uses the Beautiful Wings Embosslits die is worth a second look.

The En Francais background stamp is stamped using the Craft stamping pad for lovely subtlety.

Stamps:  En Francais
Card:  Peach Parfait, Early Espresso, Crumb Cake
Ink:  Whisper White Craft Ink
Tools:  Big Shot (have you got one of these yet?), Beautiful Wings Embosslit Die
Accessories:  Basic Rhinestones

Triple Treat Tripled

Our A la Carte stamp Triple Treat stamp is a fantastic starter for a beginner stamper.  It's a beautiful stamp in its own right, but it also co-ordinates with three punches.  Here I have stamped it in three different colurs and layered the pieces to create an eye-catching design.

Stamps:  Triple Treat Flower
Card:  Whisper White, Concord Crush, Wisteria Wonder, Lucky Limeade, Designer Series Paper Stack In Colours
Ink:  Concord Crush, Wisteria Wonder, Lucky Limeade
Tools:  Fanct Flower Punch, 5-Petal Flower Punch, 1/2" Circle Punch, Big Shot, Polka Dot TEF
Accessories:  White Baker's Twine

Sale-a-Bration DSP Love Notes

As promised, here are the mini note cards we made in class.  All up we made eight.  It was fun to revisit old techniques, stamps and punches but use them with the new DSP.  Remember this paper is FREE throughout Sale-a-Bration with a $100 order.

To write a recipe for each of these would take forever but the colours that we worked with were Lucky Limeade, Pool Party, Calypso Coral, Soft Suede and Poppy Parade.  This DSP is such a bright and cheerful combination!

This DSP is so clever!

How often do you get to post a blog entry on the 29th of February??   I know I have never done it before.

When I first played with the SAB DSP I thought it was designed to go with the Fresh Vintage stamp set, which it was!  But I have recently had a play with Elementary Elegance as you may have noticed in a previous post.  Did you notice the little birds?

They are repeated in a couple of the designs of the DSP and are teamed with Lucky Limeade and Pool Party.  I love these In colors - they are so fresh.

So here's a card using Lucky Limeade..

And here is another with Pool Party.

The striped texture in Pool Party was created using the Stampin' Up! Striped Textured Impressions Embossing Folder while the Lucky Limeade card uses the Polka Dot TEF.

A pretty quick card to put together.
