Gift Tags

Our catalogues are filled with amazing products but they are also filled with loads of clever pics to inspire you.

These gifts tags are CASEd from page 24 of the Holiday Catalogue.

  • The circles are cut using the Thinlits Circle Framelits.
  • I love that Merry & Bright from Good Greetings - only one week left to earn this wonderful set.
  • I joined Stampin' Up! in the beginning of 2008 and that fine silver string was one of my first ever purchases!  I miss it and have only about a metre left.

Amazing Party

Today was my boy's birthday party.  He is protective of my love of papercraft when it comes to making things for his friends.  He likes what I do but knows that most 12 year old boys won't notice the effort.  "They'll just rip it open" or "They won't appreciate it" are his comments.

But I had to go to a bit of trouble...

Here is the invite which Zac had permission to 'alter.'

We had the party at the local park with a soccer match, frisbee throwing etc.  We are big fans of The Amazing Race so I created our own little version.

The clues sent them running all over the park.

And the winning team won these (Instead of a trip for two from Travelocity, but they didn't seem to mind.)

Here are the tags for the party bags, made using the Amazing Birthday stamp set.

And pegged on the bags.  I had run the bottom part of the bags through the Big Shot using the Chevron Textured Embossing Folder.

Eek! I have a teen

Quick post!  I made this card for my boy who has turned 13 this week.

Oh my, those 13 years have gone quickly. I found a card o the internet that I based this on and I did not note the source.  Apologies.  I simplified the design a bit.

Another Good Deed

I recently took a trip to Gold Coast Hospital to deliver our footprint cards.

Each year we have Christmas Charity Workshop with a raffle which raises money for the materials to make these cards and to stock the boxes for the hospital.

This idea was started for the Mater Hospital by the Paper Angels group of demonstrators led by Liz Collett.  These cards are used to record the footprints of still born babies so that their parents can take the card home.  In the past our money has gone to the Mater but this year we are bringing it closer to home at the Gold Coast Hospital.

We had all the bits and pieces for the cards and one of my team members Karen and I set to work sewing the butterflies in place and sticking layers together.  Thanks Karen!

And this is me with the lovely Emma of the Gold Coast Hospital Foundation as she receives the boxes.  Emma has been so enthusiastic and excited by our offer - she is a fantastic ambassador for the hospital.

The boxes contain the cards plus ink pads and refills, snail adhesives, embossing powders and a heat gun.  We are hoping to provide two more boxes to be used in other areas of the hospital.

Our charity day is coming up soon on November 1st.  Thanks to everyone who has booked in.

Some good deeds

I am so grateful for my group of customers and my team of demonstrators who pitch in for a cause.

In this past week I have been able to take a couple of big steps in our help towards other thanks to the efforts of many.

Firstly, cards for our Australian soldiers.  In my last post we were up to 260 cards.  Since then I have added a few and then Sue who couldn't come on the day contributed 20 more.  Thanks Sue!  This is one of her cards.  Love that clean and simple design!  (and I love Santa!)

And our total reached 290.  Angela, one of my fabulous team members then volunteered to make the last 10 so that we reached 300!!  Thanks Angela!!  Here are her lovely cards.

And here are our 300 cards boxed and ready to go!

And it doesn't end there - one of my team members has contacted me to say that her Perth based mum and crafty friends are contributing 150 more!!!

Thanks so much to everyone who contributed.  This is a fantastic cause and an easy one to get involved in.

Tune in for my next blog post to find out about my other big step (actually it involved a trip on the Light Rail!)

Margaret's Lucky Door Prize (and Vicki's too)

One of my favourite things to do is make the lucky door prizes for my classes.  It's a great way to experiment with products and show my customers new ideas.

My class was on Tuesday and the last thing left to do on Monday night was make the LDP.  I was exhausted and ended up choosing to hit the hay after creating a very.simple.door prize.

My morning class went well and I presented the LDP to Margaret (see I am not even showing you what it is - it was ok but nothing flash) but I felt that I hadn't done a good enough job.

So in the afternoon, before my evening class I was blog surfing and saw a cute idea at Crafting Clare's Paper Moments.

A cute box containing a bunch of tags, put together super quick using Colour Me Autumn washi tape and the Note Tag Punch from the Holiday Catalogue!  The To/From is from Festival of Trees.

Vicki won the door prize in the evening (Hi Vicki!) and I have one put aside for Margaret next time she comes.
