This is Why We Do This!

I have had some lovely feedback recently that I want to share with you.

Cards for Troops!

A letter.....

Firstly a letter from Randwick Barracks where we send our cards for distribution.

On behalf of 39th Operational Support Battalion, thank you for taking the time to make cards for our soldiers serving overseas to send to their loved ones.  It means a lot to have your support and we greatly appreciate it.

Our soldiers work hard to help and protect people - receiving cards to send home when they are overseas is a big morale booster.

An email...from Bahrain!

Good Afternoon Anna,

On behalf of all the Royal Australian Navy members posted here in Bahrain at the present time, I would like to say a huge thank you for the Christmas cards we have received.

We are very grateful to have people like yourself providing us with cards to send home, making communication at Christmas time that little bit easier.

A little bit about myself:

I'm a Leading Seaman Maritime Logistics - Supply Chain sailor in the Royal Australian Navy, I'm 25 years old and am currently posted to the Maritime Operations Support Group in Bahrain. My primary job role is stores and mail for the Australian Ship which is on operation at this time in the Middle East region.
This involves receiving stores item and personal mail for ships company and organising freight drop offs to their next port of call, ensuring they receive their mail as soon as possible.
As you could imagine mail keeps their morale quite high, including Christmas cards to return home :)

From all of us here, We wish you a Merry Christmas and a safe and happy New Year.

Keep up the great work

Thanks and regards,

Andy S
Leading Seaman (E6) Royal Australian Navy

Footprint Cards!

A letter from the Gold Coast Hospital....

Thank you kindly for providing the footprint card packs.

As mentioned earlier, Ericka - Neonate Intensive Care Nurse has taken responsibility for the use and distribution if the footprint kit and cards.....

Ericka encourages parents to create the footprint card in the family room located in the Neonatal Intensive care Unit (NICU).  This family room provides peace and privacy for recently  bereaved parents.

We believe that your cards have provided parents and families of sick babies and babies who have passed away with the opportunity to spend quality and private time with their babies and take a memory of their baby home with them.

Ericka has also shared the kit with the maternity unit at Gold Coast University Hospital.

On behalf of Ericka and the parents of NICU, I wish to thank you.

So thank you to all my customers and team who have donated money, goods and time to these worthy causes.  It's lovely that we have the opportunity to use what we love doing to help others.

Let's do some more next year!

Thanks for stopping by!!

We Washi You a Merry Christmas

It's getting close to present wrapping time.  That's when you discover you haven't enough tags.  Here's a super quick idea.

  • Cut A4 lengthwise into two 10 cm strips.  Put washi tape along the long side - I used three strips from the Santa and Co. washi tape.
  • Cut along long side at 5cm intervals.
  • You'll end up with five tags from each strip each measuring 10cm x 5 cm.
  • Insert the washi end into the Scallop Tag Topper Punch and corner round the corners of the other end.
  • Stamp with a Christmas greeting.
  • Thread linen thread through the hole and voila!

Easy peasy!  Tags galore.

Simple Christmas

I have run out of Christmas cards!  I have made plenty for others but as for my own...I have nothing to send.  So I got stuck in.

I am on a bit of a Crumbcake kick at the moment and loving the patterns in the Trim the Tree DSP.  These cards were quick and use a retired stamp set called Merry Little Christmas.

Love the Scallop Tag Topper Punch....you might be interested to know that a new shape of tag topper punch is coming in the new catalogue.  Stay tuned!

Snowman Tags

I know I know...we don't have any snow at Christmas but I can't help loving anything that is snowy for Christmas.

I found this cute snowman on Becky Roberts blog which led me to Mercedes Weber's blog where I found a tutorial.  He is my Stamp Club bonus this month.

The ladies received two kits to make Christmas gift tags so here is the little snowman before assembly.

If you would like the tutorials visit Mercedes' blog.  The tutorial is only $1.50 U.S. and it has been created by Mercedes' daughter for a great cause.

My front door

Have you noticed the Many Merry Stars Simply Created Kit in the Christmas supplement?  I got stuck in and assembled a bunch of the star to put on our front door.

I cut a piece of corflute in a long banner.  I would have loved to have coloured it red but knew that I had to get it finished - time was running out!

At the top I added Stampin' Up!s  Cherry Cobbler sheer linen thread and some gold sequins trim.

Lovely!  Thanks for stopping by!

Eek! I have a graduate!

My son's graduation is tonight!  Primary school not high school...but that will come soon enough!

We have an advent calendar where I put a symbol for each day's activity so this is what I made for today.  A graduation owl!!

And here is Zac's card.

And his present wrapped in co-ordinating DSP.  Bit of a red and blue theme going...which matches the present.

It's been an exciting lead up with people wishing him well and a few notes in the mail.  Special times!

Congratulations!

Another type of card to have at the ready is a Congratulations card.

This one was for my niece who has finished high school.....and a spare for someone else.  I used the gorgeous Moonlight DSP and its co-ordinating colours.

This Congratulations sentiment is from another of our Photopolymer sets, "Bravo."  A great variety of sentiments for sending someone a bravo.

Thank you with Stampin' Up!s Four Feathers

Feathers are in!  I have been playing around with Four Feathers and its matching framelits.

I love stamp sets with co-ordinating dies and the feather framelits are great on their own, even without the stamps.

If you are a thank you writer, you will love the "Another Thank You" set in the Annual Catalogue (Page 148).  It's one of our Photopolymer stamp sets so it is a nice price, ready to use and oh-so-easy to line up.  I stamped this thank you using our Memento Ink.

Like the dots?  They are from another p/p set "Dotty Angles."

I made a whole bunch of these and have used them up already - it's that time of year.
