Hello Baby!

I love running my card classes!  Last week my ladies took part in a card buffet - their chance to choose the cards they wanted to make and make as many as they wanted.

One of the popular choices was this baby card - a great colour for when you don't know what the baby will be.

The colour is Hello Honey and we used the Hello Honey cardstock and the co-ordinating DSP.

Don't get excited about the stamp - it's a retired one so it's no longer available.  See I just save dyou some money!!

For the butterfly wings, we used the Wink of Stella Glitter Brush which I hope will carry over into our new Annual Catalogue.

Here's another of the baby card designs.  This uses a technique called Paper Piecing where the little duck is stamped on patterned paper then cut out.  It's a great way to add interest to a card.

The Tea Lace Paper Doilies are another way to add an extra touch to a card.

And here's a pic of a pile of cards made by one of my ladies...  We had baby, sympathy and wedding cards as well as some thank yous and happy birthdays.  Something for everyone!

Did you know that I put my class schedule up on my DBWS - my Demonstrator Business Web Site.

It's a great way to see what I am up to and also when my team meetings are being held.  The Lorikeet Stampers meet every two months and swap creative ideas and learn some business tips.  If you are interested in joining my team, please send me an email at wheatonanna@hotmail.com  I am happy to answer any questions you might have.

Thanks for stopping by!

Mediterranean Achievers Blog Hop...Weddings!

This month I am joining in a blog hop!  This hop is created by those who have achieved the Incentive Trip for 2016.  Eek!  That's me!!  And the theme is Wedding Dreams!  You will see a beautiful range of cards to inspire you, made by demonstrators around the world as you hop from blog to blog.
You may just be starting the hop here at my blog - Anna Wheaton -  or you may have come from the person previous to me in the list. If you get off track at any time, the full lineup below will help you move along from blog to blog so you see all the projects. At the moment you are visiting ME - Anna Wheaton.
I love the look of silver and black for a sophisticated card and I love our Botanical Builder Framelits.  There are so many samples of  'clusters' of leaves from these sets on the web...
So this is what I came up with.

Layers of leaves using glimmer paper, Botanical gardens Designer Vellum Stack, Wink of Stella on Vellum and black background leaves to bring out the detail.

My sentiment is one of the Expressions Natural Elements which I have dipped in Versamark, then Silver Embossing Powder, then heat set.  I did this three times to achieve a glossy metallic look.

Thanks for taking part in our blog hop, there are so many amazing ideas and inspiration you don't want to miss. Remember that currently you are at my blog - Anna Wheaton, so check the blog hop line up list to see who is next in the list.

Special Delivery and an Easter project

Last Wednesday I drove to John Flynn Hospital to deliver our card making kits.  These were assembled using the money we raised at the Christmas Charity Workshop last year.  Seven ladies helped to assemble them which I wrote about in this post HERE.

Liz is the volunteer co-ordinator at John Flynn and she is very enthusiastic to receive our help.  Here is the lovely Liz with two of the kits.  Thanks Liz!!

Late last year we  provided John Flynn with a Footprint Cards Kit.  Liz presented us with a letter of thanks from the hospital.

Dear Ms Wheaton

I am writing to express my appreciation of your donation to our Maternity Unit at John Flynn Private Hospital.  Your donation of foot and handprint cards for our deceased and premature babies is appreciated.  Thank you to the kind volunteers who assist you in putting these beautiful kits together for our families.

Our volunteer coordinator has expressed her appreciation in your enthusiasm to assist with volunteer projects to commence in 2016 namely card scrapbooking sessions for our rehabilitation patients.  On behalf of John Flynn Private Hospital, thank you for your generosity.

Diann Sapwell
Director of Clinical Services

Thanks to all the ladies who have helped to assemble Footprint cards and Card Making Kits.  It's a team of willing people who make this possible!  More sessions to come.

How are your Easter projects going?  One of my favourite demonstrators is Becky Roberts of Inking Idaho.  I love her projects and often they take my breath away.  I love this tag design with a cute little bunny and I have made it up into kits for my stamp club girls this month.  A bunny tag on a bunny tag kit.

Don't forget that Sale-a-Bration finishes at the end of the month.  What does this MEAN???

  • Last chance to get a freebee with each $90 spend

More Vellum

Here are the two other projects we made in class this week.  One of the wonderful features of vellum is its translucency which gives a lovely muted effect when layered over dsp or stamped images.

Here we used the English Garden DSP with a piece of vellum over the top.  The greeting is stamped on the vellum using Stazon ink.

This card was designed for Patty Bennett, a Demonstrator in the U.S. who achieved $1M in sales.  It uses the wonderful Botanical Gardens suite from the Occasions Catalogue and the co-ordinating Botanicals For You Sale-a-Bration stamp set and Botanical gardens Vellum Stack.

Don't forget that throughout Sale-a-Bration you can receive a FREE SAB item with every $90 purchased.  This can't go on forever!  In fact, it finishes at the end of March.!

And this was the lucky door prize, using the Gold Fancy Foil Vellum.

Thanks for stopping by!

Vellum Revisited

In class this week we completed an Easter project then switched out attention to some vellum techniques.

Our Easter project was this cute bunny bottom.  I wanted to make something using the honeycomb embellishments - I thought they would make the cutest tails...and they did!  I got the idea for this little cutie from frenchiestamps.com

Our next project was also a CASE - when I saw this design it took my breath away. It was designed by Mary Brown at stampercamper.com  The combination of vellum, black and silver was perfect.  I tweeked the design a little and added the silver ribbon.

This was made using the Botanical Builder framelits dies.  Soo popular.  These are in the Occasions Catalogue.

Don't forget that if you love our products you can't go past the Starter Kit offer during Sale-a-Bration.
You get $126 of FREE product AND FREE postage!!

It costs $169 to join and during Sale-a-Bration you get $295 worth of product!  That's $126 of goodies FREE!

Does joining sound scary?  I assure you it's not.  Here's some FAQs.

Q:  What do I get in my Starter Kit?
A:  Anything you want - make up a list of products you would like up to $295 from the Annual and Occasions Catalogues.  You pay $169.  A great way to get a HUGE discount!

Q:  What happens after that?
A:  A brown box of fun stuff will arrive at your door about a week later.  And then you start playing.

Q:  Do I have to sell a lot of products?
A:  Many people sign up as Hobby Demonstrators - i.e. for the discount.  That's why I signed up originally.  You can purchase for yourself  and sell to friends and family.  As little or as much as you like.  If you want to try to sell more widely that's up to you.  You can try running classes or parties if you want.

Q:  What happens if I don't sell anything?
A:  Nothing:  there are no penalties for dropping.  You will have till the end of June to enjoy a discount.  If you buy/sell enough, you will then be an active demonstrator for the next quarter.  If you don't purchase or sell anything more, that's fine.

Q:  Why join?
A:  Cardmaking and scrapbooking is one of the best hobbies in the world!  By signing up to Stampin' Up! you become part of generous family of like minded people.  For me, it's my job and I have made so many friends and had so many wonderful experiences! I would love you to join my team!

Bursting to sign up?  Give me a call or email OR go straight to the site using this link to join under me.

Rose Wonder and the Rose Garden thinlits die

Tonight I have my team meeting.  We'll do a little bit about business then we'll get on with some stamping!

One of the STUNNING dies in the Occasions Catalogue is the Rose Garden Thinlit and its co-ordinatng Rose Wonder stamp.  The stamp set alone is gorgeous for its sentiments.

We'll be making three versions...

First we'll stamp - this rose is quite large so it takes up most of the card front, leaving a little room for the sentiment.

I used the leaf part of the stamp to stamp inside.

Then there's the die - we're trying it with Gold Foil cardstock (page 148 of the Annual Catalogue)  For this sample, I trimmed the leaves off.

Then we're going to try this - not too difficult, you just need to be light handed with your glue.  Cut out the die then carefully poke out the pieces so that they fall onto the table close to their pattern.  Then lie the cut out/outline on your card, apply glue sparingly to the back of each rose piece and slot it into its place.  Once all the pieces are glued carefully remove the outline.  Love this effect.

Don't forget...

March is the last month of Sale-a-Bration. Great time to BUY ($90 spend gets you a free SAB item), great time to HOST (extra freebees), great time to JOIN (pay $169 to get $295 worth of any products)

Thanks for stopping by!
