Easter Treats

Hi Everyone

I am having a great time with the Basket Bunch stamp set and matching dies.  SU! is doing a great job of making Occasions sets that stretch beyond the specific occasion.  Basket Bunch is an Easter set but has beautiful flower components and the cutest bunny that can be used for other occasions.

Here is our recent class projects.

The ladies had a choice between these two cards:  a basket of flowers or the Easter bunny!  This design was CASEd from Mary Fish one of my favourite stampers.

Our other card was a clean and simple card which could be adapted for Easter or other occasions.  I love that little die cut basket.  This was  CASE also from a European demonstrator.

Our treat holder used Hey Chick, one of the FREE SAB items available till tomorrow!

And lastly, I saw this little box created by Paula Dobson and knew it would be a winner!

Lots of copying from the generous Stampin' Up! community for this class!

Thanks for stopping by!

Remember that today and tomorrow are the last two days of Sale-a-Bration!

Using the DSP

One of our recent classes was STAMP.  RELAX.  REPEAT. with DSP.  The idea of these classes is that the projects are pretty simple, with minimal instruction from me and more time to chat.

If you have any DSP lying around at home, these are pretty easy to put together...and pretty quick.

These are simply cut out using the Bitty Butterfly Punch and stuck on using Glue Dots.

Squares of DSP are punched out for this one using the now retired 1" Square Punch.  We stuck them onto a square of Whisper White then ran it through the Big Shot using an embossing folder to give it a quilted look.

Wedgewood?  This time we used the 1" Circle Punch on the Floral Boutique Designer Series Paper.  To define the edges, we sponged with Night of Navy ink.  The circle were then popped up on Dimensionals.

And I think this one is my fave.  Using strips of different widths (and a retired DSP) we covered a rectangle of Whisper White.  Then we used the Leaflets Framelits to cut out the leafy shapes.  A little bow of linen thread is perfect to finish them off.

If you are wanting a relaxing time to get creative, have a chat and make some beautiful things, please feel welcome to come along to my classes.  I update my class timetable regularly and you can access it using the 'Come to my Classes' button at the top of the blog.

Don't forget that Sale-a-Bration ends on March 31st!  This is a great time to buy - $90 gets you a free SAB item, and a great time to join - two free stamp sets when you join during SAB.

Thanks for stopping by!

Footprint Cards Update

Just a quick post to let you know how our Footprint Cards and Hospital Boxes are going...

Our Footprint Cards at Gold Coast University Hospital need restocking.  They are preferring the pink and blue cards and fortunately I had some ready made, from our last session.

These are heading off in the post!

We are getting a box of the cards organised for Gold Coast Private Hospital also.  I have packaged up a box of all the bits and pieces for one of my wonderful customers Linda, who is going to cut and assemble 60 cards for me.  I have included a sample and some scratchy instructions.  Thanks Linda!

At John Flynn we are providing Footprint Cards and Hospital Boxes, containing all the bits needed for making a card.  Two of my customers, Jan and Allison volunteer to go along and work with the patients to make the cards.  Recently we designed a box to make bookmarks which has proved very popular so we created another box with a more masculine theme for making masculine bookmarks.  The stamp set was donated by Anne, another of my generous customers.

These boxes are all stocked using funds that you help raise when you come to our Annual Christmas Charity Workshop which usually occurs in October.

Thanks for all that you do to help these causes.

If you would like to help another great cause, we are having another charity day, this time to help the Cancer Council.

We already have about 20 people booked in and it is a guaranteed fun day!  If you would like to come along, please let me know.

Thanks for stopping by and thanks again for supporting these great causes.

Sale-a-Bration is ending soon

Have you been enjoying Sale-a-Bration?  It's our biggest promotion of the year and it's always so exciting to see what the Sale-a-Bration items are each year.

All the Sale-a-Bration items are still available and there are three items.

This card showcases on of the stamps in Reverse Words.  I love this watercolour effect.  The other word says 'cheers'.

This card showcases the other TWO items.

The glimmer paper is beeeooootiful!  It is a 6 x 6 inch pack with Mint Macaron, Sweet Sugarplum and Bermuda Bay colours.

The other item is the Make a Medallion stamp set.  That gorgeous round image is made using two colours and two stamps which layer together.  Ooo la la.

Sale-a-Bration ends on the 31st of March.  So if you want to grab these beauties for FREE, contact  me with an order.  Every $90 gives you  free item!

And lastly - I have a class on Tuesday!  This is an order based class.  It's $20 or FREE with a minimum order placed on the day! Contact me if you would like to come along:  wheatonanna@hotmail.com or phone me on 55 765 469.

Beautiful You

My Beautiful You class was awhile back and I have just realised that I have not shown the cards in full.  This stamp set is so popular and we have just been told that it will be carrying over into the new Annual Catalogue.

We made a total of five cards exploring different techniques.

First up, Paper Piecing, where the image is stamped on the white rectangle and also on some patterned DSP.  The DSP dress and hat are cut out then stuck over the white dress.  This is such an effective technique and so easy to do.

Our second card also explored paper piecing with one of the other images.

Card number three used our fabulous Watercolour Pencils and aqua painters.  I am loving the Watercolour Pencils and this was such an easy card to make.

The technique is really well explained by Dena Rekow in this video.

We also did some masking to place the lady with the umbrella into the middle of a Mediterranean scene.

And lastly, some mirroring, a technique I have not tried before but we all loved it!

I was really pleased with the cards the ladies took home and the techniques we explored.  If you would like to come along to my classes, I would love to have you.  Email me at wheatonanna@hotmail.com or phone me on  55 765 469.  I also have a classes button at the top of my blog.

Don't forget we are entering the final weeks of Sale-a-Bration.  Free goodies with every $90 spend!

Thanks for stopping by!
