More than making cards

In the past few months, ladies from my card classes have been bringing in items to donate to Christmas hampers.  These hampers are organised by St John's Crisis Centre in Surfers Paradise to provide needy families with food for Christmas.

My customers jumped on board the idea signed up for certain items and brought them in each week.

We had lots of food items but also Christmas items such as serviettes, tablecloths and bon bons.

Once my last class had finished I gathered all the donations, sorted them and spread them out on the floor.

It was an amazing amount of goodies gathered, including Woolies/Coles gift cards.  These are greatly appreciated because it means that families can also buy some fresh food items.

Mary-Anne, customer and team member made gift card holders for them.

Last week, Blake and I loaded up the car and took the whole lot in.  We had plenty of help to unload and carry the donations in and they were greatly received.

Thanks so much to everyone who contributed items.  It was a lovely thing to come together and do.

Thanks for stopping by!

Onstage in Brisbane Part 3

I had a fabulous turn out of team members for Onstage.  Some were first timers, some were seasoned veterans.  I also have a few Adoptees to my nest - they belong in other teams but live near me so they are part of the team fun.

I like to give my team members a little gift and so I made these up and packaged them in the Mini Pizza Boxes.

These are zip pulls or scissor lanyards made from squashed bottle caps.  We did sell bottle caps in one catalogue but no longer.  I bought these at Big W in the Home Brew section and squashed them through my Big Shot. (You just have to peel out the rubber seal first.)

The feather is the symbol of my team and I printed it out and popped it out with the 1" Circle Punch.

I covered each circle with Versamark and Clear Embossing Powder (so that the ink wouldn't run) and then stuck them into the bottle cap with Mini Glue Dots.

I then covered over with Crystal Effects to seal.  Unfortunately we don't sell Crystal Effects anymore but the Fine Tip Glue Pen is a good substitute.

The tiny feather is made using the Chase Your Dreams Framelits and shrink plastic.

Speaking of feathers, one of my team members Anne, painted this feather for me!  I have had it sitting around for about 2 years intending to paint it and then had the common sense to delegate to the right person!!

And am I with Jenna, who sat at our table with her Mum.  Jenna is from Bundaberg.  You meet the nicest people!!

And here is the team.  Look at us all!  And we had people who couldn't get in too!

Well, if you don't want to be part of Stampin' up! after reading all that fun I would be very surprised.  Need details about joining?  Email me at wheatonanna@hotmail.com or phone me on 07 55 7654 69.  I'd love to talk you into it!  He he.

There are some GREAT joining specials coming for Sale-a-Bration in January too!

Thanks for stopping by!!

Onstage in Brisbane Part 2

We had a jam packed full day of fun last Saturday for Onstage in Brisbane.

An optional fun activity to participate in is swapping!  Make as many as you like of a card design or project and SWAP.  Make 10, get 10 back.  Make 20, get 20 back.  Make 100, have a rest!!!

Here are my swaps - I have a kazillion embellishment containers left over so I decided to re purpose them.
I used circle punches and the Tropical Chic Stamp Set to decorate the lids.  These containers would be great for a set of mini cards or tags, chocolates....

You are supposed to include a recipe of products that you used and also your name.  I printed these details out and cut them out with a circle punch and fastened them together like a little fan.  Cute huh?

All up I made 25, using up all my shallow embellishment containers.  Good fun!

If you would like to know more about Onstage or being part of my team or buying Stampin' Up! products, I would love to help you out.  Email me at wheatonanna@hotmail.com or phone me on 07 55 765 469.

Onstage in Brisbane

Every 6 months Stampin' Up!® spoils us with Onstage, a gathering of demonstrators for creative and business inspiration.

This year is SU!s 30th birthday so we were EXTRA spoilt!

On the Friday night demonstrators who were Silver Elite and above were treated to a delicious buffet dinner in a black and white theme.

We get a sneak peek of the room all set up for the next day.

Our table decoration - how did they know my age????

This is Angela, one of my team and I being goofs.

And being a little more serious at dinner.

And here we are with Em, our DDM - Demonstrator Development Manager.

At every Centrestage we are given a gift.  This time round we received a stamp set - perfect sentiments for encouraging our teams and a Centrestage Bone Folder.

And the next day the gifts just kept coming!!  Stay tuned for my next post.

Done on a Dare from Dianne

Let's be thankful for friends who challenge us!

Dianne a customer/friend supports me in my business AND she looooves Dazzling Diamonds glitter.  Did you know it's real name is Dianne's Dazzling Diamonds?

Dianne dared me to do a Facebook live on my business page.  My first!  She wanted order the Snowflake Showcase from me and said she would ONLY order it if I did a Facebook live AND offered Dazzling Diamonds as an ordering incentive!

I did my Facebook Live (it was sideways but oh well), Dianne did her order and now, she and another customer get their Dazzling Diamonds for ordering online!

I have dressed their thank yous up using the Frosted Floral Suite - this week's Product of the Week.

If you would like to place an order this week, head to my online store by clicking HERE.

I am giving away samples of the Frosted and Clear Epoxy Drops which co-ordinate with the Frosted Floral Suite.

Beautiful Baubles Charity Day October 2018

I am delighted to report that through Stampin Up ®, our wider team the Paper Angels and my team The Lorikeet Stampers we helped raise over $4000 for the Footprint Cards program.

This is a wonderful effort from everyone, and all achieved through a day sharing our love of all things inky.

There were 6 events all like ours that took place in Brisbane, on the Sunshine Coast, and on the Gold Coast. I wanted to show you the projects we made, and have waited until the last of the events took place last Saturday, so as not to spoil the surprise of the projects for others reading my blog.

Thanks so much to Genesis Christian Ministries in Carrara who allow us to use their space so generously.

Below are some photos from the day, and projects we made.

Our Projects

The projects all focussed on the Beautiful Baubles stamp set, and Detailed Baubles Thinlits Dies, from the Stampin Up ® Holiday Catalogue.

This card above used the baby wipe technique, where we dripped similar colours in pinks, greens, blues and purples, onto a baby wipe, and then used that as the ink pad. It creates this lovely effect of different shades on the one bauble. We also used the lovely silver edged cards and envelopes to complete the effect.

We decorated one of the clear acetate card boxes, to store the Baby Wipe technique cards. The band around the box, has silver embossed baubles, and Silver Edged Ribbon to finish it off. The silver and white theme is so effective.

The card above used the same large bauble stamp and Frosted Floral DSP. The front of the card is folded back which gives a different dimension to the card. We then used DSP on the flap of the envelope to continue the silver and white theme.

This lovely green coloured card is a gatefold, and the Pear Pizzazz embossed section, fits through the darker green circle. The green leaf paper also comes from the Frosted Floral DSP.  It's almost gum leaf-ish!

These beautiful gift tags use the Rich Razzleberry and Tranquil Tide Velvet Ribbon, with the same coloured die cut lanterns.

The card above uses the repetitive pattern of the baubles, stamped on Shimmer White paper, and then the same again stamped on the Mint Macaron cardstock, and cut out and raised on dimensionals.

The Kraft Pillow Box above is wrapped in Silver Glimmer Paper and Frosted Floral DSP, and uses the Rich Razzleberry Velvet Ribbon to finish off.  We coloured the Basic Rhinestones using Blackberry Bliss Stampin' Blend.

The last project, are the 4 small gift cards above, which use the large bauble image and the Blackberry Bliss and Tranquil Tide cardstock and inks.

Our Displays

We had a wonderful collection of cards and boxes to display showing off the products from the Holiday Catalogue.

The Raffle

The Raffle was as popular as ever, with lots of prizes to share out with everyone.

I am so grateful for the support of my team who help prepare and run the day.  I also appreciate all the wonderful customers who attend these days and make them fun and support our raffles.

Our individual event raised $600.

Thanks for stopping by!
