Little Cuties

I made these cuties as a door prize for my most recent class.

I love giving out little somethings that give my customers cute gift ideas.  These are made using the Petal Card Double Punch which scores and punches.  Two cutouts Tombowed together make each of these cute little boxes.
In each cello bag is a teeny box with a variety of brads and buttons and a teeny box with a metre of rolled up ribbon.

Our new In Color Dahlias are a perfect embellishment and so easy to apply with a Mini Glue Dot.

Beautiful Decoration

There are so many gorgeous handmade decorations on blogs and websites.

We have a fantastic new Big Shot die called Designer Rosette which makes creating those accordian flowers so easy.  This decoration is copied from a video by Kay Kalthoff.

As each layer is added it becomes more and more scrumptious.  If you are a Big Shot fan, I highly recommend the Designer Rosette die - lots of fun to play with and so quick!

Eleven!!!

I can't believe it!  My son has turned eleven!  In that many years again he'll be twenty-two!!  Say it isn't so!

I made this card using retired DSP and the retired Simple Letters Alphabet.  I love the colours on this DSP which is actually a Halloween set.

  • Crystal Effects on the letters gave this card its elegant polish.
  • Tombow Multi-Purpose glue was perfect for mounting the letters on the card - a little bit of give to line them up but then quick drying.
  • The envelope co-ordinates perfectly with a little DSP snailed over the flap then trimmed.

Card:  Basic Black, Old Olive, Frightful Sight DSP (retired)
Tools:  Big Shot (got one yet?), Simple Letters Alphabet
Accessories:  Basic Black Grosgrain Ribbon (retired), Crystal Effects

It's easy to stamp a banana...

But hard to stamp an egg...

One of the lovely ladies who came to our Paper Angels Christmas Card Workshop has special dietary needs and said she'd be right with 'a banana and a boiled egg.'

So the challenge was on.  Here is her Stampin' Up! banana.  Easy to stamp using Staz On ink.

And here is her egg - really hard to stamp on those curves!!

Stamps:  Workshop Words,  Tiny Tags
Card:  No card, just an egg and a banana
Ink:  Black Staz On

Paper Angels Christmas Card Workshop

I had a fantastic day yesterday at our annual Christmas Card Workshop, here on the Coast.  This event has been runing for a few years now in different venues but this is the first time we have done it at the Gold Coast.  There were 25 ladies gathered in the cafe of Genesis Christian Ministries who kindly donated their space for free AND provided us with a delicious moning and afternoon tea and lunch thereby contributing the catering budget to our fundraising.

Here are some pics...

Everyone had a bag containing their stamp set and other goodies to make their projects...

Our raffle prizes donated by Stampin' Up!

This beautiful doll is being raffled across all venues and has been made by one of our team using the Comfort Cafe fabric...

Some of the creative ideas on display...

The delicious food provided by the church congregation...

And our attendees hard at work...

Our efforts raised a huge $535 for the Mater Mothers' Support Programs.  Well done us!
Thanks so much to Angela, Jenny, Nadene and Teresa who helped get everything organised and then helped run the day.  And to all the ladies who pitched in to clean up at the end.  The day could not have gone more smoothly.

Sweet Pressed Cookie er...Biccie Stamps

I had a play today with the Sweet Pressed Cookie stamps. They come with two recipes and I tried the Sugar Cookies.  I had read some American demonstrators' blogs and some had said to stamp the design once the cookies were out of the oven rather than before.  I decided to try both ways.

These were stamped before going into the oven...

These were stamped a couple of minutes after coming out of the oven.

I must admit the images were a little sharper when stamped after and it was a little easier to do.  AND the recipe was YUM!

These cookies (or 'biccies' as we like to say) are from the Special Events set.  The set comes with a beautiful wooden handle and three silicone stamps, 7 cm in diameter.

Stamps:  Sweet Pressed Cookie Stamps (#126903) $29.95

Festival of Prints DSP

I have been busy getting organised for our Paper Angels event coming up soon.  One of the products we are using is the Festival of Prints DSP from the Holiday mini and I have a few scraps left over.  When our October Impressions magazine (a monthly publication for all demonstrators) arrived today (!) I immediately CASEd two of the cards.

Thought this one was OK without a sentiment..... You can see what it's for, right?

And this one is very simple to make.
