Heat embossing and some technique videos.

A couple of weeks ago our class focus was on Heat Embossing.  Here is what we made!  So much versatility.

One of our card focussed on embossing with Copper Embossing Powder on Copper Foil. My card was a direct copy from a fabulous YouTube Video by Dena Rekow.  Such a clean and simple design - can't improve on that!

Dena provides some great tips for this clean and simple card in this video.

We also explored the Joseph Technique - such a fun way to get stunning effects on your cards. This card is also a CASE from Tami White.

And there's a video for that one too!  Watch it - it's rather nifty!

This one was my own idea, so no video for it but it uses the exquisite Paisleys and Posies stamp set and some BRIGHT colours!

Lastly we stamped the gorgeous starry swirl from the Star of Light stamp set in white embossing powder on a white background (clear embossing powder would work fine here too.)  We then sponged over the image in co-ordinating ink to create a cloudy swirl. Beautiful huh?

That amazing star is created with the layers of the Starlight Thinlit Dies.

All of these wonderful stamp sets and dies are available from Stampin' Up! and can be purchased through me by phone (07 55 765 469) or email (wheatonanna@hotmail.com) or by visiting my online store.

Hang Your Stocking!

This is one of the fabulous Christmas bundles in our Holiday Catalogue.  Combine Hang Your Stocking with the Christmas Stocking Thinlits for a wonderful collection of fireplace goodies.

These samples aren't mine - Karen, one of my team members made these and gave me permission to share them with you.

This stamp set and thinlits are available in a bundle which give you 10% off.

Karen has incorporated the Warmth and Cheer DSP into her samples.  So snuggly!  I know it's Summer for our Christmas but it's a little chilly where Santa comes from, right??

Karen does a fabulous job perfecting the insides of her cards as well.

And her attention to detail with twine is amaaazing!   Below is the Gold Bakers' Twine available in the Trio Pack on page 16 of the Holiday Catalogue.  Karen has wound it around the card layer several times for this effect.  Don't you love it??

And the same again here with the Cherry Cobbler twine from the same pack.

There's also a smaller stocking which is ideal for gift tags.

The Hang Your Stocking Bundle is a perfect Christmas bundle, incorporating all things Christmas into a classic set of stamps and framelits.

You can contact me to purchase or go straight to my Online Store and shop in your jammies!!

Don't forget the fabulous DSP sale we have throughout October.  Buy three packs of DSP and get one free, from a selected range.  There are even some Christmas packs!

Happy Birthday to my boy!

I have a long and skinny son and I can't quite believe he is fifteen today!.....That means he'll be 16 soon too....then 17.  You get my drift.

This was him once (He is the big one, not the little one.)  And now he is 6 ft 2" and very lovely.

So for a tall and skinny boy I made a long and skinny card...showing our incredulity through punctuation!?!?

And a matching long and skinny envelope, using the Simply Scored Scoring Tool.

Can we take a moment to appreciate that the flap of my envelope matches up PERFECTLY!!

And while I had my crafting supplies out, the two guinea pigs and the cockatiel got in on the act and decorated a bag.  I told them that they had to come back and make a card later.  They said "Wheet" and "Chirp".

Look at those faces!!

Cards for Troops Wrap Up! 600 plus 2

I have held my last sessions to create Christmas cards for Australian soldiers serving overseas.  Over two days at the start of the month, I had ladies help me at Robina Library as part of World Card Making Day.

And our final tally for this year is..........600 (and two) cards!

These cards then have to be matched with envelopes, bundled into groups of 10 and sent down to Randwick Barracks.

Here they are laid out on the table.  Of course the next step is to find willing volunteers...

Hubby and son to the rescue.  They circled this table over and over counting to ten.  I have captured one of many moments when my husband is stopped in his tracks, fascinated by the amazing designs and craftsmanship of each card:  "How did they do THAT?" and  "These ladies are amazing!" were just some of the exclamations uttered.

Here are all the packs laid out...

That's a lot of sandwich bags!!

While I had the box of cards sitting in my hallway, Anne, one of my customers visited with her two grandchildren.  I explained to the children what the cards were for and where they were going.   Not long after I received some more cards in the mail.

Dorian and Louisa had each made their own card to add to the box.

These are the outsides...

And the insides...

So these two special cards were given their own zip lock bag and packed into the box along with all the other cards.  I am sure they will bring a smile to someone's face.

Thanks everyone for the massive effort that has gone into creating these cards.  I even have a group in Perth who send cards over to add to the count!  Thanks so much Jill and co!

We have been doing this since 2011 and made a total of 2377 cards!

Thanks for stopping by!
