Easter Class Projects

My ladies have recently done an Easter class of Bunnies and Baskets.  There are some fantastic ideas in blogland every Easter.

First up we made a carrot card (well, why wouldn't you?) 

We used the Petal Cone die.  I had seen plenty of petal cone carrot boxes in blogland but wanted to make a card.  I got the idea when I saw an icecream cone card made the same way.

I had a customer ask to order "Elvis Paper" which is the glimmer paper.  So I think that's what I will call it from now on.  Isn't it great for the cherry?  I used Crumb Cake and Pretty in Pink for the colours.

This card went straight into an envelope for my niece.

Petal Cone Christmas

Our last class for the year was Christmas boxes and one of the projects was this Christmas cone, using the Petal Cone die.  It is so very easy to put together and the scallop detail under the petals is an elegant touch.

We added a Christmas flower to the front using the Fun Flowers die. I have had Shimmer paint on my table for ages and had read about mixing it with rubbing alcohol to make a spray.  So we tried it on our flowers.  See the shimmer?  It was a beautiful Christmasy touch!  (Looks even better in real life.)

I am using my cones for presents for two little friends of mine.  The pressie is under the shredded paper and must remain a secret.  But did you spot the little box in the top?

I saw the idea for these on Mary Fish's blog.  They are made using the Petal Card Double Punch.  Four of these shapes punched out and glued together make the cutest little box you'll ever see.  The images come from Jolly Bingo Bits and are cut out using the new 1" punch from the new Summer Mini.  Two Dove chocolates fit perfectly inside.

The Jolly Bongo Bits set has every Christmas image imaginable and I can see me using it a lot in Christmases to come.

JAI Challenge

Over at Just Add Ink this week's challenge is Just Add a Die Cut.  I often have a look at the entries but thought I would try to enter my own this week. 

This is my first use of the gorgeous Petal Cone Die, from the new catalogue.  And Wisteria Wonder is my favourite colour at the moment.

Here's another photo to give you a better idea of its shape.  I wrapped some choccies in co-ordinating DSP to go inside.

And a close up of the flower - using the Fun Flowers die and an Antique Brad in the middle.
