Box In a Bag, SAB style

I have shown Box in a Bag before on this blog but it's always worth being reminded.  Here's a close up of the embellishment.  Been using a lot of rhinestones lately.

These are very easy to make yet have a lovely impact on the recipient. Fill them with chocolates, a scented candle, chocolates, soap, chocolates....

Who'd have put Poppy Parade, Lucky Limeade and Pool Party together?  Aren't they a nice trio?

If you need instructions, google Box in a Bag and you'll find a few to choose from.

Just Add Ink Challenge 102

If you are stuck for ideas for creating cards, there are plenty of challenge blogs on the net.  It's fun to try a challenge once in awhile to take you outside your comfort zone!  One site I like to visit is Just Add Ink.  This year, I hope to enter a few more of their challenges!  (I entered only one last year!)

This week's challenge is Just Add Kathy Tanner.  Challenge participants visit Kathy's blog, choose a card and CASE it.  This is the card created by Kathy that I chose.

I loved the one little brad in the corner and the tiny tags on the bow.  The red butterfly in the centre also caught my eye.  Here is my version.

Kathy used some Smooch Spritz on the swirly underneath panel.  I used Shimmer Paint Spray.  You can juuuust see it in the picture below....or maybe not.

Pop on over to Just Add Ink to see the other entries.

Stamps:  Tiny Tags, Elements of Style, En Francais
Card:  Crumb Cake, Whisper White, Cherry Cobbler
Ink: Whisper White Craft Ink, Crumb Cake
Tools:  Big Shot, Beautiful Wings Embosslits die, Jewellery Tag Punch, Paper Piercer, Scallop Trim Border Punch

Bright Birthday

One of my favourite Aussie blogs to visit is Kirsty Brown's.  She is a Queensland demonstrator who has such a flair for beautiful designs.   This card below was inspired by one of hers and I adapted it to use a SAB set.

The sentiment is one of my favourites at the moment and is from Happiest Birthday Wishes, one of the Hostess sets.

I used the floral image from Fresh Vintage, inking it up with my Stampin' Write Markers to achieve the different colours.

Sale-a-Bration is on.  Email or phone me if you would like to place an order or book a demonstration.  There is no better time of the year to order than now!

SAB Update

Last week's Sale-a-Bration launch was a success in that we all had a fun time, but we also raised a bit of money.  Our raffle of goods donated by Stampin' Up! raised $90 for the Gold Coast Children's Hospital.  Thanks to everyone who bought tickets - most of my guests went away with a prize.  Thanks also to my first ever sponsor, my 10 year old son Zachary who contributed one dollar so that he could put his business cards in everyone's goody bag.  His blog is http://www.zaccars.blogspot.com/  Go visit and leave him a comment - he'd be thrilled.

Some cards!  Here are a few cards I had on display made using The Open Sea from the Summer Mini.

Baker's Twine is one of the exciting new products.  It's not quite this fuzzy in real life - that's my focus!

It's great for male cards and suits the Nautical Expedition Suite perfectly.

Stamps:  The Open Sea, Teeny Tiny Sentiments
Card:  Not Quite Navy, Cherry Cobbler, Nautical Expedition DSP
Ink:  Not Quite Navy, Soft Suede
Tools:  Extra Large Tag Punch, Large Tag Punch, Modern Label Punch, Word Window Punch, 2mm Circle Punch
Accessories:  Cherry Cobbler/White Baker's Twine

And using the same suite....

Stampin' Up!s Distressing Essentials kit suggests this card has been on a few voyages.  I used the Tea Stain ink here to age the DSP.

And lastly... a few mini note cards..  The two sizes of tag punches are a quick and easy way to whip these up.

SAB Make and Take

Sale-a- Bration is in full swing.  Click on the SAB blinkie to the left to learn more.  This is one of the cards that we made at my SAB launch.  It's a great showcase of the Fresh Vintage stamp set (FREE!) and the Everyday Enchantment DSP (FREE!) and the Everyday Enchantment Ribbon & Brad pack (also FREE!)

For the make and take we Versamarked the floral image on the butterfly but when I made up all the left overs I sprinkled clear embossing powder over the image and heated it to get that glossy effect.

The free ribbon and brads are just beautiful and go so well with the paper and stamp set.  If you are interested in placing an order, every $100 gets you a free stamp set from the SAB collection or the DSP or the ribbon and brads pack.  Spend $200, get two items, $300 will get you three items PLUS hostess benefits.
Contact me at wheatonanna@hotmail.com or phone 07 55 765 469 if you wish to place an order or book a demonstration.

Launch Gifts

On Saturday I had 13 ladies at my house for the launch of Sale-a-Bration and to play with some of the goodies from the Summer Mini.  For the next few posts I'll tell you a bit about it all, but for today, I'll show you a gift I made for each lady.

These are little post-it note keyrings which are so easy to make.  The Crop-a-Dile punches through the layers of post-it notes 'like butta'.  All of these colours are the current In-Colors.

Remember that Sale-a-Bration is the most fantastic time of the year to order.  For every $100 you order, you get a free stamp set AND this year you can also choose from a DSP pack or a ribbon and brad pack.

Contact me at wheatonanna@hotmail.com if you wish to place an order.

Pretty Postage Thankyou

This is one of the cards we'll be making this Saturday at my Sale-a-Bration launch.  It uses the Pretty Postage set and co-ordinating Postage Stamp punch.

I was lucky enough to win the Pretty Postage set at a recent training event.  It's such an easy and versatile set to use.

Loving the glimmer paper that has been released in the Summer Mini.  It co-ordinates beautifully with our Basic Rhinestones.  They sparkle off one another!

Ahoy! More Open Sea

I can't believe it's been a week since I last posted.  The weeks are wizzing by.  Here is another Open Sea card.  The background is done by stamping one of our clear blocks into an ink pad, stamping off onto scrap, then stamping onto the Whisper White.  I love the effect.  It frames the sail boat beautifully.

Here's a close up.  Looks like a misty morning!

Stamps: The Open Sea, Teeny Tiny Sentiments
Card: Not Quite Navy, Whisper White
Ink:  Not Quite Navy, Cherry Cobbler
Tools:  Clear-Mount block D, Modern Label Punch, Word Window Punch

Don't forget that Sale-a-Bration is coming up soon.  My launch is this weekend so if you would like to come, please email me at wheatonanna@hotmail.com

Stocking Builder Punch

If you have had a look through the Summer Mini, the Stocking Builder Punch may have caught your eye.  If it is on your wish list, you might like to get in and order it as Stampin' Up! has announced that it will not continue into the new main catalogue. :-(

Our occasion-specific mini catalogues allow us the opportunity to share the latest seasonal products with you and your customers, and we often carry over products from our mini catalogues into the following Idea Book & Catalogue. This time, however, we have decided not to carry over the Stocking Builder Punch (item 124095) from the 2011-2012 Summer Mini Catalogue into the next Idea Book & Catalogue. Instead we will offer other great designs in its place--not to mention a trendy, new design planned for next holiday season. Once the current inventory of this punch has been depleted, it will no longer be available for purchase. We hope many Stampin' Up! stockings will adorn cards and brighten holiday projects this season and look forward to seeing what you create with the next seasonal design.

Here is a reminder of a couple of designs I have made using this punch.

I love the baby booty idea!

Another Open Sea

Here is another simple design using The Open Sea from the Summer Mini. This time I have layered the stamped image onto some of the co-ordinating DSP. The brads add to the nautical feel.

This was very quick to make, yet looks quite striking with its monocromatic effect.

I'll have these samples and more on display at my Open House on Saturday 21st of January. Come and have a play with some of the Sale-a-Bration and Summer Mini products. If you haven't received an invite by email, contact me at wheatonanna@hotmail.com for more details!

Summer Mini - The Open Sea

If you are after a masculine stamp set, The Open Sea in the Summer Mini is a beauty.  I have been having a play with it over the past few days.  I saw a design similar to this over at Splitcoast.  I love simple and clean designs, especially for male cards.

The sample I saw used a different background embossing folder but I liked the effect of the stripes - sort of like wooden planks.  I have used mini brads around the port hole frame - just the right size.

There is a co-ordinating DSP for this set also.  I'll show you a card using the DSP in my next post!

Stamps:  The Open Sea
Card:  Cherry Cobbler, Not Quite Navy, Early Espresso, Very Vanilla
Ink:  Early Espresso
Tools:  1 3/4" Circle Punch, 1 3/8" Circle Punch, Paper Piercer, Big Shot!, Stripes Textured Embossing Folder
Accessories:  Mini Brads

Personalised Christmas Mail

And I mean personalised for the sender.  My son's current obsession is anything to do with cars.  He even names cars I haven't even heard of.  (Not that that's very difficult!)

So I ask you, what do you do when you want to send a card with Subaru and Ford logos on it and you can't find one in the shop??  Why you make it yourself!

And the inside... POP UPS! (starting to show me up!)

'Fiskmas' is a 'Christmasisation' of a car - the Fisker Karma.

Christmas Mail

Happy New Year to everyone.  I hope that 2012 is a happy and healthy one for all.

I thought I would start the year by showing you some of the Christmas cards I received in the mail.  I always think the homemade cards stand out from the rest.

Angela, a friend and customer made the card below using a non SU! embossing folder (wish it was SU!) Isn't the whiteness set off by the rhinestones spectacular? Such a simple but stunning design.

Larina, one of my downlines sent this.  Love the use of layering through the Big Shot.

And another customer, Carmel, combined silver, white and red for this spectacular card.  I love the effect of the silver through the embossing folder.

And a close up of the bow - ideal for posting.

And lastly, a card from my neighbour Sarah.  The perfect combination of Aussie stamp and Aussie colours.

Next post - one last homemade card to show you.
