This is another of the girl cards we made in class last week.
I wanted to keep all the cards bright and young.
Really simple to put together, sort of a girl version of the Lego card.
Stamps: Bring on the Cake
Card: Melon Mambo, Daffodil Delight, Regal Rose, Pretty in Pink, Tempting Turquoise, Whisper White
Ink: Regal Rose
Tools: Decorative Label Punch, a variety of circle punches

Bright colours and the Owl Builder Punch suited to a T.
- I love the Clockworks stamp set which I have used more often for its abstract images than for its clock images. Here I have combined Melon Mambo, Daffodil Delight and Regal Rose.
- The owl's party hat is cropped using the Petite Pennants Builder Punch, chopped off at the half way point.
- A festive pom pom is made using one of the flowers from the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack. I used Paper Snips to clip between each petal to allow for some 'fluff.'

You can tell because the 'Wish Big' is stamped using the old style ink pad - not as clear. Last week I set to work to create a second banner to go with it.

We revisited the Petite Pennant Builder Punch to create this card.
- Part of the fun at the end was embellishing the pennants with little feminine touches.
- The Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack and the Bitty Buttons are a match made in heaven, providing texture and shine to the card
- The Bitty Butterfly new in our Seasonal catalogue was a must add.

- A squished Soda Pop Top makes it more post friendly.
- The 1" circle punch is the perfect fit to pop out a circle of DSP.
- The Hexagon Textured Impressions Embossing Folder is a great option to add a bit of texture to this card.

Just Over a Week Left
Sale-a-Bration is ending in a little over a week. One of my favourite freebees is the Sycamore Street DSP.
My best cardmaking buddy came over today and we spent the day making cards. I am filling a card order at the moment and one of the requests was for a 30th birthday card.
The bright colours of Sycamore Street were the perfect choice. And with free co-ordinating ribbon, how could I go wrong?
Once again the colour choices are made for me. And as this is a special occasion card, I did a fancy inside.

- When my ladies make a mistake at my card classes I tell them: cover it up or cut it off. (In the nicest possible way!) There is almost always a way to fix mistakes. This card was not originally designed with the butterfly. Once I had finished the card I accidentally dropped it and it landed face down on an inked stamp, leaving a tiny, but very noticeable mark on the white of the card and on the DSP. To remedy the problem - the tiny butterflies are adhered over the ink mark and an extra strip of DSP had been added to cover the other mark. Easy.

The layout might look familiar as I used the same format for this card in a previous post.
- The Mini Brads (200 in a pack!) were easy to line up using the Essentials Paper Piercing Pack and the Paper Piercing Tool
- Don't you love the sharp image that the firm foam stamp pads give?
- Colour co-ordination is done for you with our DSPs. I started with the DSP then picked out two of the 'boy' colours from the pattern. Co-ordination done!
As I designed the cards for the class, I really wanted to stick with brights colours for young boys. The spotty pattern from Sycamore Street suited perfectly. This DSP is FREE during Sale-a-Bration with a $100 order. Don't forget that Sale-a-Bration ends on the 22nd of March!

Another Boy Card
This fantastic technique was demonstrated at the Heartfelt Event by one of our Paper Angels, Rebecca Ross. By wrapping rubber bands around a brayer and rolling it across the card, a unique background can be achieved.
We made four cards in Tuesday's class in four colour combinations using the Need for Speed set.
And for each one, the sentiment was punched out with a variety of punches.
* The blue card is made with Pool Party and Island Indigo inks. By rolling the brayer theough the lighter ink first, I didn't have to clean the brayer before rolling into the darker ink.
* Make sure your rubber bands are spread across the length of the brayer so that the end doesn't tilt onto your paper.
* Don't leave the rubber bands on your brayer when you are finished as they will leave a dent...hmmmm...another interesting effect?
Stamps: Need For Speed
Card: Whisper White, Island Indigo, Tangerine Tango, Summer Starfruit, Lucky Limeade
Ink: Island Indigo and Pool Party, Tangerine Tango and Calypso Coral, Summer Starfruit and Midnight Muse, Lucky Limeade and Always Artichoke
Tools: A variety of punches

Lego card
At card class last night we played with Lego.
You might remember I posted a pic of Lego boxes that I made.
Last night we made Lego cards as part of our 'Cards for Boys' class. A bit of sponging and a few Dimensionals made these cards a hit.
Card: Real Red, Daffodil Delight, Gumball Green
Ink: Real Red, Daffodil Delight, Gumball Green

Notecards in a Box
This was one of my recent classes. It seems that once a year we seem to get around to making a set of notecards and a box to put them in. They are so much fun to make and they make great presents. We used the Patterned Occasions Sale-a-Bration set.
There are five images in the stamp set, so we made five cards.
Each one had a matching envelope and a little embellishment on the design. We used the DSP Paper Pattern Stacks in the In Colours.
See the contrasting panel inside? And the contents are much healthier than cigarettes!
My six pack a day habit...
Once classes were over I made up the extras that were left and I ended up doing a set using the Print Poetry DSP. This would have been lovely for class but I would have had to buy sooo many packs of the DSP to make multiple sets of cards.

The box design was based on a cigarette box. My sister and I nutted out the dimensions. (Well my sister did most of the nutting out!)

It's a Wrap!
I recently bought some Kraft wrapping paper in various designs. The 'male' pattern I chose was images of bicycles in black and white.
Of course there needs to be a matching card.
Here's the card tucked into the present. Notice that I put a pleat into the wrapping paper (thanks Pinterest) to hold the card.

Of course there needs to be a matching card.
- I used black Stazon ink for crisp clean penny farthings.
- I then used Versamark and White Embossing powder to create the contrasting images.
- Silver brads complete the look (I love the look of black and silver!)
Here's the card tucked into the present. Notice that I put a pleat into the wrapping paper (thanks Pinterest) to hold the card.
