We have had a rainy weekend so some Sunshine and Sprinkles is in order.  We made this card at a recent stamp-a-stack.

This DSP and this stamp set are retiring - tonight at midnight.  :-(

Brown Paper Packages

I made these just after Convention, inspired by a demonstration.

Our orders come protected by brown paper that, in its original form, is in long rolls of perforated pieces.  When we get it, it has been pulled off the roll and scrunched around our goodies to protect them in transit.

My son loves smoothing it all out and folding it into concertina-ed piles. (not)  It then goes into a drawer where it breeds.

So I made these

I didn't know what they would be used until today when I popped a cute rubber in each to mail to my nieces.

Just Believe

I am sad to see this set go.  Its silhouette images are just beautiful.

 

This is another card we made in our colour blocking class. Each panel is stamped with its matching ink.  I know I CASEd this card from somewhere but can't track it back to give credit.

Sage Words

We have a global forum, Stampin' Connection, where Stampin' Up! demonstrators can post pictures of their creations, ask questions and share ideas.

I spend waaaay too much time looking at blogs, Pinterest and Stampin' Connection but I came across a discussion where a Canadian Demonstrator posted these words which I thought were worth sharing:

One of my husband's friends is quite a sage. One day we were visiting and I told him what I do. Now a lot of men roll their eyes like-- "Oh, one of those crazy wasteful ladies-- you'll never catch MY wife getting into it...!"  But he did not-- instead he remarked, "I have missed these kinds of exchanges in society. Special times in life used to be acknowledged with a greeting card so you could display and collect them and take with you wherever you went and remember the friends you made along the way. I still save notes and cards to remember the special friendships that made me a better person. It could make a real difference in someone's life to know they have the kind of friend who makes something for you with their own hands. In the down days it would certainly help one not feel so sad and alone."

Washi x 2

We have two sets of washi tape in the new catalogue:  Epic This and That Designer Washi Tape (phew!) and Gingham Garden Designer Washi tape (not so phew!)  I am loving both sets.

This is a super simple design using the Label Love stamp set, another new product in the upcoming catalogue.  Here I have teamed it with the Gingham Garden Washi tape.

Wonderful Washi

Our new washi tape comes out starting July 1st, in two sets with three designs in each set.  Want to see the Gingham Garden Set?

If you love using ribbon on a project you'll love washi.

It's very easy to use and looks so effective.

• Add washi tape straight to a project or use it through the Big Shot.  My butterfly is created by adding strips of washi to Whisper White, then cutting it out with the Beautiful Butterfly Bigz die
• Cut or tear washi tape - easy either way
• The pack of three patterns means the co-ordination is done for you...although I have a feeling I'll be using up the teeny flower pattern quicker than the other two!

Bye Bye Pretty Postage

For a quick-to-put-together card, you can't go past a square punch and the Pretty Postage stamp set.

We made this card last week in a colour blocking technique class.

Pretty Postage is another of the stamp sets that is retiring!  It's available until the end of the month or while stocks last!

Hello Lovely

 One of the wonderful parts of Convention is that we get sneak peeks of the new stamp sets to come AND we get to play with them.  This is one of our make and takes which uses two new sets: Gorgeous Grunge and Hello Lovely.

 

Look carefully and you'll see another new product:  washi tape!  This super effective and easy to use product is a decorative tape, and is similar to masking tape but much cuter.

 

See those ink splatters?  Those are from the Gorgeous Grunge set - you can splatter your ink but there's no mess!

 



I had a team meeting soon after Convention and we made the same card but in a different colour combination.

Lots going on!

We have a many offers happening at the moment!  But first, a project.

I have LOTS of DSP that is retired.  I even have retired, retired DSP.  Our Designer Series Paper packs are all so yummy that they are hard to resist.  I took on a fun project over the weekend using the Simply Scored tool to make... envelopes. 

I made a set of three notecards with matching envelopes to give to a hostess.  See how the inside of the envelope matches the details on the notecard?  Perfect co-ordination and a cinch to put together.

Retirement List Continues ..but wait there's more!

Stampin' Up! continues to spoil us with new surprises:

 

As part of our 25-year anniversary celebration, we're bringing back some of our favourite stamp images from the last quarter century and combining them into special sets, which will release-one set per month-until April 2014. Even better, along with some great classic images, each "Best of" set will also include a never-before-seen image!

Some things to remember:

• All Best of stamp sets will include 3-5 images, including a never-before seen image, and will be priced at $25.95.
