Playing with Numbers

I hope everyone had a fabulous Christmas!!  I am getting back into the swing of things - I miss being creative!  It's something I never get tired of.

I have had lots of reasons to use numbers on cards lately so thought I would show you some of my creations.

Our neighbour's grandson turned 1 just before Christmas so I made this simple card.  The colours of the Festive Birthday DSP were a perfect combo- Emerald Envy and Tempting Turquoise.

It's so easy to create cards for specific occasions using the Number of Years stamp set.  Here's another, again using Festive Birthday - this is a really festive colour combo!?

And then a more sophisticated combination of black and silver for a 70th card.  No stamping of the numbers required this time - the numbers were cut out of Silver Glimmer.

The Number of Years stamp set and matching framelits are a great investment for card making and scrapbooking.  I love the watercolour look of the stamps and the framelits are useful on their own!

Recognise this card???

This card would look familiar to someone out there.

And that's because you made it!   For Cards for Troops.  But it has been returned to us...with a message!

Dear Anna
My name is Keiran V____ and I am one of the officers in the Australian Contingent in Juba, South Sudan.
I wanted to thank you for your kind gesture of sending blank Christmas cards.  It measn a lot to myself and the other contingent members to know we are thought of and not forgotten at this time of year.
It will be a very different Christmas experience sharing with colleagues from the other United Nations countries supporting this mission.  I hope the Christmas goodwill will aslo be apparent within the local population.
The group of about 20 Australians will be sharing a Christmas BBQ roast and a Secret Santa so we should be able to have a fun Christmas day, even if we don't have family nearby.
I hope you have a very merry Christmas.  Thanks again for the cards.
Warmest regards,
Keiran V______

We have great response this year to our biggest output of cards!  We also received an email recently.

UNOFFICIAL Good Morning Anna,

My name is Petty Officer Jon S______ and I am currently deployed on the ANZAC Class Frigate, HMAS Arunta, in the Middle East Area of Operations.

We received a bag of mail yesterday and the awesome cards that you and your team have made. In my 15 years in the Navy I have never received anything like this from volunteers at home, and I have had a few Christmas's away.

What a fantastic gesture. It is 0530 in the morning and I am going to use some of your creations to send a Christmas message home.

I have 2 children, E_____ who is 8 and F____ who is 2. I'm sure they will enjoy going to the mailbox to find such a nice card for them.

Just knowing that there are people such as yourself makes these deployments worthwhile.

Once again, thanks very much for your lovely gifts. The crew on the ship will no doubt love sending these precious gifts home to their loved ones.

Jon

Thanks and regards,

Jon S______

Don't forget and a sneak peek

Long time no blog!  I have had the busy-ness of finishing up the school year plus a family holiday at Caloundra where the only paper craft I did was a completing a jig saw and reading a book!  I needed a change of pace!

Now I am back and in the swing of things....

Don't forget that our Holiday catalogue is drawing to a close....  It is heading to the beach and putting its feet up on January 3rd.  That means that the Year End Closeout will also be over .  Don't forget to check out the specials HERE.  And have a look through your Holiday Catalogue for anything you might like to order!

Of course, that means a new catalogue is coming starting January 4th.  I was able to purchase new products during Onstage and as a demonstrator, we get to buy purchase from the new catalogue a month early!  So my pre-order has arrived and I have been having a play.

I love dinky sets - and this set called Custom Tee called me by my name. There's a matching set of T Shirt slogans in the new Sale-a-Bration catalogue so you can expect to see lots of these little T shirts popping up!

I love making these single sided note cards for when I need to write a quick word to customers or friends.

And of course, it's hard to send a boring envelope (in fact it should be illegal!) when you have a whole bunch of stamps and inks to choose from!

I will have these and other samples 'in the flesh' at my catalogue launch!  I live in Burleigh Waters on the Gold Coast.  Come stamp with me!

Last class for the year

Today is my last class for the year!

I love packaging inexpensive things to make them look extra special.  That way you can give gifts to others without breaking the bank.  The love comes through in the packaging!

These pouches are super easy to make and are a cute little pocket for tucking a chocolate.

Have you spotted the acetate boxes in the Annual Catalogue? They are hidden away on page 176 and they are called Clear Tiny Treat Boxes.  They are 5 cm squared!

We created lids for these ones using the Presents and Pinecones DSP and co-ordinating cardstock.  We topped them with a bow made using the Bow Builder Punch.

Our third project was another box - with an insert this time.  Again, we created a fitted lid but inside is an insert to hold a coffee pod...

Or a candle decorated with washi tape.

Our last project involved...chocolate.  Silly really as we are having quite the heat wave today!  I loooove wrapping Aldi chocolates, as many of you know.

Here we wrapped two 'Merci' chocolates with Presents and Pinecones dsp and slid them into our 5.1 x 20.3 cm cello bags.  The topper is made with the Cheerful Tags Framelit die and its Here's to Cheers stamp set.

I have had such a fun time running classes and events this year.  I am looking forward to a break and to starting up again next year with my Catalogue Launch!
