Retreat Cookies!

There is a wonderful cookie creator on the Gold Coast called at Sweet Cakes by Katy.

To thank my ladies at the end of the retreat, I have her make cookies that tie in with one of our products.  This time round I used the Playful Pets Suite and she made paw print cookies!

She makes them just the right size to fit into our mini pizza boxes.

It wasn't until after I had ordered them that I saw Katy post a pic of a cookie with a tiny bee on it so I asked to have those added.  She have me tiny lady beetles!!  How cute!

Day Retreat at Lonestar Tavern, Mermaid Waters

WARNING LONG POST but LOTS OF PICS!!:  At the start of December I held a day retreat to give customers and team a day of uninterrupted time to complete UFOs (unfinished objects) and get ready for Christmas.

The day is pretty unstructured but I provide goodies throughout the day and some make and takes that can be completed with the stamp set they receive.

Each lady had half a big round table to work on and this was their place setting.  A box of goodies!!

Plenty of inspiration with my displays of new products from the upcoming mini catalogue.

Everyone gets a lucky ticket for a raffle plus the option to buy more.  We raised $65 for Hummingbird House.

I bring along my inks and all the colours of A4 and embellishments for the ladies to use, along with all my Christmas stamp sets, dies and punches.

Do you want to see some of the projects the ladies worked on??

Throughout the day, I give the ladies pillow gifts.  I know we don't actually have pillows but you get the idea!!

I try to give useful and/or edible gifts!

These were Dimensionals dressed up with the Darling Donkeys stamp set which is FREE during SAB.

These are the mini Jingle Bells from the Christmas mini.

Our delightful circular tins were on the tables at the start of the day choc full of chocs to sustain the crafters!!  These were so much fun to make!

And these were the make and takes the ladies completed, using their free stamp set.

It was a thoroughly relaxing and productive day with everyone getting lots ticked off their lists.  If you would like to be on my mailing list for the next one, drop me a line at wheatonanna@hotmail.com.

I also run regular classes throughout the year.

Thanks for stopping by!

Our Charity Day Projects

I am loving the opportunity to share the projects we made on Sunday.  These were designed by Bec Ross and myself using the Cherish the Season stamp set and dies and Snowflake Splendor DSP.  Beautiful colours.

The coordinating cardstock colours are Misty Moonlight, Pool Party, Balmy Blue and Highland Heather.

Slimline cards are in!  There are heaps of slimline cards on the internet.  We made this card and a matching envelope using DSP.

Christmas always calls for gift tags.  Aren't these cute with the Balmy Blue Glimmer paper?  These tags are 5 cm or 2"wide - here's a hint.  Use a 20 cm long piece of Balmy Blue, add the strips in 20 cm lengths, then cut them up - less fiddly.

This one is a gift card holder!

It contains a slot to slide your gift card into.

We also created a simple card with Balmy Blue Glimmer paper.

Four square gift cards with envelopes. (Don't forget to stamp the envelope!)

And these went into a cute acetate box.

These four cards were made using the split stamping technique.
  • Cut 1 cm from the top and one side of a piece of Whisper White A4.
  • Stamp your chosen images in a cross on the rectangle.

  • Then cut the piece into four pieces, 14.3 cm x 10 cm.
  • Decide which way you want each card to face
  • Stamp your Merry Christmas.
  • Add Pool Party Ribbon to Whisper White layer and tie in a bow
  • Adhere to your card bases and TA DAAA!

Have you seen our rectangle tins?  We had great fun covering the tins and making a concertina card for inside.
These are so cute!

The concertina card was measured to fit nicely in the Tin.

And we then made a box which holds the tin OR two Kit Kats. Yummo!

Our Charity Day!!

Oh my goodness!  It's been a month since I have blogged.

Lots to tell you.  On Sunday we ran our annual Christmas Card Workshop!  Fellow demonstrator Bec Ross and I designed the projects and the event is held in a number of locations from the Gold Coast to Pine Rivers.  This event was on the Gold Coast at the Lonestar Tavern, Mermaid Waters.

It's always a fun day - I call it a 'fun'raiser and a fundraiser.

Here are all the ladies who came!

We had some fantastic displays!!  Thanks to everyone who contributed and to those who did a fantastic job of setting them up!  There's a lot of inspiration there!!

Our raffle is a huge hit every year.  Stampin' Up! donates a HUGE box of retired goodies that we raffle off.  What would you choose??

As usual there are CUTE lucky door prizes.

And Kylie won the Golden Ticket Prize!  It was randomly hidden in a project kit.  She didn't discover her ticket till near the end of the day and people were asking if they might have missed it.  I think it was probably big enough, don't you?

It was a very fun day only made possible by my team The Lorikeet Stampers.  They helped prep kits, make samples, set up, organise food, run tables, sell raffle tickets, help one another, organise food, clean up, carry things etc etc.  They are a wonderful bunch!!

If you have read this far you need to know how much we raised..

$1024!!

This will go towards the footprint cards and craft resources that we provide to the hospitals.

Thanks everyone who came along and supported us.

Pictures of the projects coming in the next blog post.  (I won't take a month!)

If you are interested in attending these events or my classes in the future, contact me and I will add you to my list.  Email me at wheatonanna@hotmail.com or phone me on 041 6022 766.
