Baby Wipes for cardmaking!

Who knew that the humble baby wipe could be used in cardmaking!

In our August technique class we got inky with baby wipes and Stampin' Up!® products.

A folded baby wipe in a lid or plate becomes your ink pad.  For these cards we dripped a whole bunch of different colours (using reinkers) into a baby wipe. Then we used Watercolor Shapes to stamp a pattern of shapes onto our Basic White cardstock piece.  The results are a multicoloured pattern of patterns! Lol.

Have you seen our Spiral Die background stamp?

For this one we lay a two baby wipes on top of one another in the Stamparatus.

We 'drew' with our reinkers to form a multicoloured star pattern.  We then stamped our image into the pattern, removed the plate from the Stamparatus and stamped onto our card front.

While the baby wipe was set up we stamped the card below - the sentiment was added using Black Embossing Powder.

And lastly, we used the wipe as a wipe! By folding the baby wipe several times we created an 'edge' that we could drip ink onto and we wiped the edge onto or cardstock piece.

I hope that these cards inspire you to try the technique - I have discovered that you can buy biodegradable baby wipes too!
